    How is it the defender's fault? He can be absolutely motionless and still be called for a rip through foul.

    The league really does need to address it.

    The thing about Harden's "rip through" is that he's driving and the opposing players initiate the contact by trying to strip him. Harden baits them and they initiate the movement trying to get the steal. With Durant's rip through, he's initiating the contact and it's all his own movement. I remember going nuts when he hit Parsons hip before he could fully rip it through and it bounced off but the refs called it anyway.

    You're deterring the motion of a player's movement. If Durant is rising up to shoot a shot and a player's hands/arms interrupt that movement, that's a foul. A lot of those are pretty damn blatant.

    They stopped calling his **** toward the end of the season and the playoffs. I mean he still got his fair share but it was dramatically less than the beginning/middle of the season. Durant can get his rip through any damn time and it's always called.
