Flops like that should be automatic suspensions, without pay. It's straight embarrassing watching that type of flopping, and the "fines" the NBA hands out to floppers is a joke. Five thousand dollars is nothing to most NBA players, especially to max players.

I mean, a couple thousand dollars is a small price to pay to win a game, especially in the playoffs. Hell, I would want my players to flop like crazy if that got us a victory in the finals. That's why the fine should be a percentage of the player's salary or an automatic suspension without pay, not a set amount for every player like $5,000. Make the fine as small as 1% then fines can be like $50,000 and up (for a player making 5M a year). If a max player flops, that would be like a $140,000 to $200,000 penalty.

I think a bigger financial consequence not to flop.

I'm a fan of the stop calling that **** tech.

 

Because the fines are a straight joke. It takes like 5 warnings before a suspension and no one ever gets more than 2. This season, the NBA fined 30 players for flopping. THIRTY. 30. Might as well not even have a flopping policy at that rate.

I can't wait for the day that a team flopped its way to a championship. If I was an owner, I would gladly pay all the flopping fees my team accumulated in the finals while I polish my championship ring, especially since the fees are so little and can absolutely affect a game and the series. I would literally tell my team to flop all they wants to win the game. What an embarrassment would that be for the NBA.
