True. In all fairness, Gasol shoved Ginobili in the back before the ball went off Manu -- but I'll give you that Gasol was hacked on the drive. Props to the refs for owning up to their mistake. If the Spurs lose, it's all on them for a complete collapse.
if horry hadn't been tackling odom, odom may not have tackled manu and he may have gotten that rebound. edit: just saw your post. that's a classic end of game scrum, they ain't calling anything there short of someone pulling out a chainsaw.
This series probably ends in five. If you can't win a game on the road when you're up 20 in the second half, when can you win?
it is on. thx anyway. game, nice no call on Bowen's flop from Kobe. Ok it was a push off. but still nice bowen didn't get the call
really can't believe the spurs blew this. i actually turned it off for 10 minutes when the lead reached 18 i was so disgusted, then it was 10 when i turned it back on. spurs will still probably win the series, but this made sure it will actually be a series. kobe absolutely huge down the stretch with 3 big buckets including the one to make it 87-85. edit: this was a like a shaq/kobe lakers comeback. the kind where they just suddenly flip the switch and start destroying you and win a game they had no business winning. except this team isn't that good and the spurs should've never let it happen.
Ginobli is a flopping p***y, he's no better than AK47. his flopping is sooo annoying. it supercedes his basketball talent.
The Lakers took the lead (83-81) on two free throws from Kobe when Bowen barely brushed him on the baseline. I agree that those are the typical rules, but it sucks that they're rarely (if ever) applied when the Lakers have the ball.
if you people are counting san antonio out after game 1..then yall are crazy. just crazy. did they not get blown out the first two games the round before?? so quit with the predictions. it aint over till it's over.
Just like they did in the 4th quarter of game 7 on Monday, except the Hornets choked too (save for Pargo) and couldn't close them out. Today's game was a blast from the past playoffs when the Spurs would blow out to big leads on the Lakers but they would fold up and still lose because of choking.
I'm not predicting the lakers winning the series, but I want them to win. Manu was off today, so expect him to bounce back. But I still think the Lakers bench > Spurs bench and that will be the difference.
Yep, SA let one get away. I just couldn't help thinking how good this team is going to be when Bynum comes back next year. No way they don't dominate the WC next year.
Eh, it's more about inept San Antonio offense. 20 points in the 18 or so minutes after they took a 65-45 lead midway through the third is completely unacceptable. What's more concerning is that it's the second game in a row where this has happened. If the Hornets had a wing better than Jannero Pargo, they're most likely playing tonight. The Spurs seemingly lack any kind of offensive identity down the stretch. Whether it's Ginobili's fatigue or just poor play, they look confused and have very little structure. You have to be able to make plays down the stretch in close games to beat the Lakers, and I have zero confidence right now in the Spurs' ability to do that.
I'm with you. But I don't know about this series ending in 5. If the Spurs barely beat the Hornets in 7, they will find it tougher to beat a more mature, much deeper team than those same Hornets. One thing in the Spurs favor: Charles Barkley is giving the Lakers the kiss of death against the Spurs like he did the Hornets.
Considering the Spurs blew a game they had in the bag, anyone else think Pop was remarkably mellow during his press conference?
