He got 3 fouls, so Kerr sat him for the last 8 minutes of the half. So, in the sense, he was MIA

 

well he has been for a long time, which is probably when most of those threads were made. but westbrook has been great in these playoffs.

 

The ones we can bump to make people eat a buffet of crow? Those same guys are in here arguing that Harden > Curry because of this game. Don't take them seriously

 

OKC seems to have put in their heads that we have to take those open 3's the Warriors get in transition/ early offense away from them and take our chances that our bigs can defend the rim if Curry/Thompson try to drive.

The way defense has been played throughout history is to defend the paint first and worry about the perimeter last, but against the Warriors you have to do the exact opposite. You can't let them get those wide open 3's you have to make them take contested 3's and your bigs have to be able to protect the rim if they get past the perimeter defenders.

 

Where did Roberson foul Klay? That looked like good defense.

 

It's not even a fair comparison since Westbrook has Durant on his team

 

Absolutely right LPH, the fact that they never had anyone do that to them for these last 2 years is absolutely mind-boggling. And the fact OKC countered GS "death" lineup by going bigger (that also hasn't been done vs GS these last 2 seasons) is a very smart, tactical move by Billy Donovan.

 

so now ibaka has 3 fouls with 9 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. would be 2 if not for donovan's brain-fart on the hack-a-ezeli.

 

for having such great handles and being able to get out of any situation, curry throws some of the worst passes i've ever seen. just so sloppy.


okc's offense has been abominable in this quarter. almost can't think of a good shot they've taken. then klay makes a crazy 3 with durant right in his face and there you have it. okc better get it back together if they think this game is over.

 

See big beats small every single time, if athleticism is close.

I'm just amazed at the simplicity of Donovan's approach.

And to answer your question...it gets even simpler. We tried , and others tried, to beat them at their own game.

That's not ever going to work. If OKC tried it, they would lose every single game.

 

i think harden is back to being better than westbrook. horrible shot decisions.
