I hope the Spurs enjoyed their SW division title. That's all they're getting this year.

    Tony Parker is a SG.

The spurs remind me of 2006-07 rockets, only Yao+ Tmac!

Great game from Tony and Timmy, combined for 68 points, but they got no help.

Man, my pre-playoffs predictions suck so far. I had the Spurs winning this series, and the Hornets winning against Denver. Both look like bad picks now.

That's what I get for not watching more non-Rockets basketball games this season. It sucks not having NBA TV.

You seem like a basketball nut. Why don't you get League Pass? It's one of the best entertainment-related investments I make each year.

Forget about my point. Here are two tips:

    1. Stop posting in all caps like a raving lunatic.

    2. Stop posting obscene images on ClutchFans.

The Spurs might be done...for good.

When I say for good, I don't mean this year, I mean their reign as champions and a Western Conference powerhouse.

I'm not ready to close the chapter yet. They're definitely an aging group, but I still expect Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili to be a powerhouse trio next season, and they still have the best coach in the league (IMO). It's just a matter of staying healthy.

League Pass Broadband was only $84.95 for the entire season if you signed up early. Incredible for the money.

More than 2/3 of folks here picked the Spurs to win this series, so you aren't alone. I picked the Mavs/Nuggets/Rockets/Lakers in the West.

They're going to need some Daryl Morey type moves to stay contenders. Of course, they already know that. Plus, it's easy for us to be jaded about this, because the Rockets make acquiring low dollar high value role players look trivial, when it's far from it. Part of it is also having a great owner. We go into the Summer knowing our GM has the go ahead to try and buy into the draft, and that's the type of move that Les has never wavered from making.

If you told me the Mavs would be up 3-1, I'd call BS.

I'm shocked the Spurs are laying down.

Why so? Dallas has won playoff series against Spurs even when they had Manu-Parker-Duncan healthy. This year they didn't even have Manu. For Spurs to win, Duncan and Parker have to be absolutely spectacular each game because they dont have offense anywhere else. Duncan has never been an explosive scorer (he will get his 20-30 something, boards and blocks) so that puts a lot of pressure on Parker.

Spurs are still a better defensive team but you still need to score on the other end. Also, Josh Howard and Jason Terry are a tough cover for the Spurs and Dirk can get hot from the perimeter too.

Well the Spurs were a 3rd seed for a reason. They had a good season, even without Ginobili playing a lot. And they have a history for getting it together in the playoffs, so I assumed that would happen. Even though there was news of Duncan not being 100%, I've heard it before and he usually came to play in the playoffs regardless.

On the Mavs side, I just flat out underestimated them. They've been underwhelming for most of the year, and I guess I shouldn't have dismissed their impressive record to close out the regular season.

I usually try not to rely on regular season records when predicting playoff series. I think matchups become a lot more important. Mavs matchup pretty well against the Spurs.

The Spurs usually do well late in the season and playoffs because their familiarity and team chemistry kicks in. This year, the combination of injuries between their stars and all the new players never allowed them to lock in. Manu being out and TD's current injury were the last straw. Not only do they lack the talent to be a contender, the Spurs just aren't clicking. The only way they can win a game now is for TP to go ballistic. The Spurs may be the 3rd seed but they aren't anywhere near their peak.

I was able to watch both teams in the regular season and even though I knew the Spurs were not the old Spurs of the past and would struggle in the first round I still picked them to win the series. I never thought they would have a game 3 outing like they did. I expected it to be a tied series at this point, not 1-3. I think it being the Tony Parker show has hurt their team. I think there needs to be more of a balance creating for his teammates and himself. It's hard for players to get into a rhythm with that kind of offense. Take for example today's game ... the most a role player shot was Finley with 6 shots.

Problem is the Spurs role players aren't up to snuff for playoff basketball. Bonner is playing like a dead person. You have to admit Finley is on fumes, as is Bruce Bowen. Udoka is a dog. Don't EVEN get me started on Drew Gooden.

The Spurs just can't beat a good team if TP doesn't explode. As I saw it, the last few games of the regular season proved that. To exaggerate a little, they limped into the playoffs using string and band-aids.
