They've been getting increasingly pissed day by day since the trade. I check out PistonsForum once in a while. There were quite a few fans trying to rationalize the trade early on. Lots of Iverson IDs popping up. Then time went by...

I understand the Pistons did this for cap reasons and to get Stuckey more time but it still makes you look back and wonder.

    Billups: 8 3s
    Hornets: 8 3s

I'm so glad for Chauncey. He's the only guy on either team I like a lot. The Nuggets finally drive a stake into the Honey Bees. It's possible CP could try to make it interesting in the 4th, but I don't think he's interested. This time, I don't blame him.

Chauncey is playing with a chip on his shoulder b/c everyone picked CP3 to dominate the PG matchup. He's teaching the grasshopper that he has much to learn.

I mean from a fans point of view. You are not thinking about the summer. You are thinking about right now.

The Pistons were contenders every year until this year. Sheed not playing up to his potential has always been their biggest problem since winning the Championship which is funny since he is one of the biggest reasons they won one in the first place.

With how the Iverson situation played you they basically released Billups.

I get the cap reasons too but still with Billups that team was still contenders IMO if they just came to play which seems to be the big problem with them.

Going to be interesting to see what the media thinks of both guys after this series with the way Billups is balling right now. I definitely don't t expect Billups to put up 40 every game this series but I think he will play great.

Why? What's the point in trying?

As you pointed out, why does it matter since any team that hopes to make it to the Finals has to go through LA?

    /sarcasm

They weren't championship contenders with Billups, just pretenders. This is why Dumars cut bait and went for the cap space next season.

JR Smith is lickin his chops playing his old team.

He's been thinking "This is what you gave up, b****es!" every time he gets the ball.

Yes and no. I guess it's that people like you and me can see the big picture while I suppose most typical fans either can't or don't care to do so. I think it was abundantly clear that Billups-led Pistons core had peaked and it was only downhill from there. Dumars knew it too which was clearly one of the reasons he pulled the trigger on the AI deal.

But yeah, from a fan's perspective RIGHT NOW it's easy to think: AI is giving us absolutely nothing, just imagine if you plugged Billups onto this team. I hear ya on that. I just try to consider the bigger picture and in this case I still think it was a wise decision for Detroit.

Chris Andersen, JR Smith, and Kenyon Martin are all former Byron Scott players. I wonder if they're playing with any added motivation in this series.

I'm just messin with you. It doesn't matter who comes in at this point anyway. Julian Wright won't put them over the top in this series.

Julian Wright has nothing to do with making this a competitive game. He's today's equivalent of the "human victory cigar". If he ever develops some skills and displays talent, he might make a team's rotation one day.

Ownage... the Hornets will have to fight for their lives, literally, to win 1 game in this series.

Man, the Nuggets look impressive. I think I underestimated them. Or maybe I overestimated the Hornets.

Yeah I hear you guys, I'm just one of those guys who hate to see the rebuilding stage lol which in this case isn't really a full rebuilding process.

My homeboy is a Piston fan and he's hoping they can get Chris Bosh.
