Keep dreaming. CP3 is the only untouchable on that team. You can bet everybody else has a 50/50 shot of getting shipped out of town. Well, that is if anybody is even willing to take on some of NO's albatross contracts (Peja, Chandler, Mo Pete) in the first place.

The only player I would be interested in is David West. We all know he has limitations but he's still a solid scorer inside 15-feet of the basket and has a fair contract at $7-9M/year. That having been said, i'm sure the Hornets are equally uninterested in trading a good player on a nice contract to a division rival.

Wow, come on man if Hornets put CP3 on the block why would they go for expirings only? They could get the #1 overall pick in this year's draft + top level prospects + expirings extremely easily.

Did I seriously just see Paul for T-Mac's expiring contract suggested? The term idiotic has just found new meaning.

Exactly, t-mac is much more valuable than CP3, he would never let his team lose by 58 on their home floor. T-Mac would have faked an injury once it got to 25.

Damn. I thought this was a youth-league team going up against the pro's for a second.

How is a beatdown of this magnitude possible? I know I know, the hornets suck. Yeah? Plenty of teams have blown far worse than NO in the regular season and teams have also been far better than NO in the regualr season adn gotten blownout in the playoffs, but by 60 points?

Where is the pride??? What the hell? lol. That's a disgrace to the entire game of basketball, regardless of what team you follow.

On a side note though, it's always so dumb how accomplishments like these only "tie" a record. Seriously, it's always some team that played 400 years ago that holds the record. The Lakers were probably playing a minor league game back then, this record should stand.

Name one team that got blown out "far worse" than the Hornets did, ever.

If David West was on the table and the asking price was reasonable I promise you we would be interested. Much like the whole Amare saga pre-deadline. On-the-record, we're happy with our current trio (and rightfully so) but there's always that temptation factor and all the small talk that goes on behind closed doors.

IMO, the Hornets don't need to trade David West. Tyson Chandler should be traded because he definitely isn't worth his contract and teams would take him (well, maybe not any more). Peja should also, but they are probably stuck with him. Somehow they need to get a SG compliment to Chris Paul who can create his own shot and offer an alternative to CP's dribbling around. He has the ball in his hands too much. Ideally, the new starting SG would bring a tougher on-the-floor and lockerroom mentality than CP. James Posey is another guy they could afford to lose because he's overpaid and over-the-hill.

The only way the Hornets should trade West is if they get a solid SG plus a viable, rotation-worthy big man in return.

I'll add that I've never thought Byron Scott was a very good coach and I don't think he's the guy that can lead them to the promised land.

The Hornets would be foolish to blow up their team just for the sake of change. CP and David West are definite keepers. If they lose CP, may as well fold the franchise or move it somewhere else.

Denver deserves a lot of credit for the beatdown, but it was embarrassing to see this.

Negative. I was saying there have been ****tier teams than NO heading into the post season in the past 10-20 years and they haven't blown nearly as much as nawlins has in the playoffs.

I have to give A_3PO and some others on this board credit. They saw the Hornets for the pathetic team they evidently are. I thought Chris Paul's brilliance would push the series in the Hornets favor, but clearly I didn't know what the hell I was talking about.

Seeing how the Hornets and Spurs have struggled in this first round, it kind of puts a damper on our late season wins over them. I guess they weren't that big a deal.

I knew they were that pathetic heading into the playoffs, you could just tell by the way they play sometimes, CP3 is the only one carrying that team, West is good I guess but besides those 2 the team is nothing special. Plus their bench is horrible. I was hoping Rockets would get the Hornets soo badly because I knew we could probably sweep them. Didn't we blow them out our 2nd to last game?

Dude, just last season we saw Gasol get shipped to LA for a bag of peanuts. Shinn wants out of NO (supposedely), he is cheap as hell (definately), the team supposedely wants to cut salary and T-Mac is one of the biggest expirings out there. Not to mention the economy is in the toilet and tons of teams are in trouble and not looking to add salary. Hell no, I don't think a deal is possible (like 3% chance)....but no one is idiotic for suggesting a cheap owner may want to ship off their best player so he doesn't have to pay said player. Again, it just happened last season...........

I don't know all the trade guidelines but a T-Mac for Paul and West deal is close ($401K off). Deals involving CP3 and Chandler for T-Mac and one of Lowry/Barry/Hayes gets you to a difference between 256K and 333K (all of those guys contracts can end after next season). You could give up T-Mac and two of those players and get close to a CP3 and Peja combo. I don't see it happening but if the owner wants to take the Grizz route we can get him from under two bad contracts (Peja due 14M and 15M, Chandler due 12M and 13M). I honestly don't know why any team would trade for either Peja or Chandler if Paul or West aren't involved in the deal, especially with the current economy.
