How so? Was 17th his entire tenure or just a season? Was the 17th ranked offense’s roster geared towards offense or defense? Good thing I never suggested for WB to be in charge of the Rockets offense.... Kicking him off wasn’t an option heading into last year’s season. Again.... and again.... I’m not suggesting WB take over the Rockets offense....... I’m not sure if you have a learning disability or you are truly incapable of having a rational basketball discussion about WB. I’m guessing the latter....
Benching him was, and had the Rockets benched Westbrook and never let him touch the floor in the playoffs, they'd have been a better team.
That wasn’t realistic either. The most realistic option was trying to make it work with WB last season. You maybe right about the playoffs but we did almost lose to OKC with WB injured most of the series. Harden vs Dort...
Lol lets not act like we only started playing small ball when Russ got here. Capela was underperforming and didn't fit as a small ball center. Many fans applauded the move to get Covington and go full small ball.
Report: Russell Westbrook Made into Scapegoat for Rockets' Playoff Struggles TIM DANIELSDECEMBER 4, 2020 Mark J. Terrill/Associated Press NBA sources close to Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook reportedly believe he became a "scapegoat of sorts" after the Houston Rockets were eliminated in the second round of the 2020 playoffs. Fred Katz and Kelly Iko of The Athletic reported Friday the "real reason" Westbrook and James Harden wanted out of Houston was the team's dismantling at the hands of the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers, and Westbrook was dealt as part of a blockbuster swap bringing John Wall to the Rockets. "Sources close to Westbrook believe the nine-time All-Star was being made out to be a scapegoat of sorts for Houston's playoff meltdown, with his poor showing making him an easy target—eerily similar to what happened with [Chris] Paul and Harden following the Rockets' Game 6 collapse against the [Golden State] Warriors in 2019," the report noted.
It is time to move forward. The fit may not have been good, but for all his flaws, Russ played his ass off. I am going thank him for playing like his hair was on fire everytime he stepped on the court and wish him well.
