I thought the similarities Wade was referring to were things like penetration moves, such as the way they cradle the ball or the way they both use the elongated (euro) step to get in the lane. Thing like that.
LOL wtf? Why do both team loses? We lose out because we traded Kmart and Lamb for Harden? What? As for OKC, its clear by now they should have kept Harden and KD instead of WB and KD. However, given that they were gonna keep WB over Harden anyway, this deal was the best move they had. There's no way OKC could keep 3 max guys and 1 other near max guy on the team, Harden would've walked away in FA OR the goodies they get wouldn't be as good.
Didn't really follow through (staggered it for a whole minute in the first), but blowout, so... /shrug.
Westbrick stinked it up bad in the first half, lucky they are playing such a bad team and kmart is doing well.
Lol my man martin is still a beast 16 ppg on 10 shots while shooting 47% from the three Sixth man of the year confirmed
A trade a few of us proposed last year was Lowry + draft picks or fillers/Martin for Westbrook. Imagine OKC with Lowry, Harden, Durant, Ibaka and Martin and picks.
westbrook and durant are stunting each other's growth, but they are still the best duo in the nba right now
That's the point to me. This was probably one of the most balanced trades in the nba since I've been watching. I've been watching since 78 or so and not many make both teams feel like they won. The rockets needed harden more than okc and okc needed a little salary relief, vet to replace harden without the ball, anda potential talent dwn the road. They got what they needed and the rockets got what they needed. Win-win!
Hate to break it to you guys, it's not a matter of Westbrook and/or Harden or Ibaka really. As long as you have Durant and semi All Star caliber talent around him, you are going to be fine either way and be a title contender. The only other player currently with this type of impact is Lebron James. These 2 guys can carry a lot of combination of teammates to a top team. I think Lebron proved it over the years and Durant proved it this year. OKC are clever in the sense that they recognized this and so they could still keep winning while saving money.
i think this team without durant would still be pretty dang good. and way better then the cavs would have been without lebron.
Yeah, but I think the old Cavs were less of a true contender than the current OKC. The old Cavs despite great regular season record were a not realisitc title team. My point is that these guys (Lebron and Durant) don't need much in terms of teammates to succeed, at least less than any other individual players in this league. That enabled their team namely OKC to be able to choose the cheapest way to build around him. If it's any other player, the team would need more talent around to achieve the same level of success.
Durant doesn't impact the game like lebron. No way durant or really anyone else in the league could get that many wins out of those cavs teams. Conversely, lebron will get more wins out of any team he's on. If okc makes a great pick with the toronto pick, they're gonna be impossible to deal with.
Yep, great thing is we still have our first-round draft pick next year. It would've hurt a little bit more if we had no draft picks next year but it's good to still have one, even if it is in a projected average draft. It feels like all we gave up was Martin for Harden.
