i cant say harden wont be traded one day (keeping GOAT talk aside). no matter it's tilman or alexander's team, biz is biz. the whole league is a big biz. but, i believe, and it's quite predictable, harden wont need to adapt himself and his game to a particular coach, no matter it's pop, kerr or somebody else, in other words the coach gotta know how to use harden better. the reason is, harden not AI, arenas, vc kinda players, who rely on their young legs, first step and explosiveness (they luv dribble dribble dribble either). harden is unique and creative, he never use his body or gift to dominate the game but using his mind to read the game. he got vision of court, he got his games evolving by adding weapons in his arsenal on a yearly basis, and most crazy thing is he understood the rules of the game and make use of it. (that's why some hate him, coz that's his uniqueness) he dunt need to be changed by others, he change his games based on circumstances and rules. TLDR You: harden hater. harden gonna be traded one day and he gonna learn to be not selfish or self-centered. Me: harden mania. com'on! harden is unique. based on games i watched, he is always evolving and adding new weapons, that's why he will never need to adapt to a system or coach. WE: rox fan
Ran across some great tweets this morning over breakfast related to Westbrook from a couple of our very own. I was actually a little surprised to see how dominant he has been. One reason is the bone headed plays tend to stand out in my mind for some reason and the other is maybe I’m a little desensitized because of all these years of watching Harden put up other worldly stats. Taking off my Harden goggles, these stats are amazing. I’ll admit I’m a bit surprised he’s been consistently this good over the past 14 games and also that I’ve mostly yawned about it outside of that Clippers win he willed us to.
Is it okay to appreciate Westbrook yet??? Glad he is on my favorite team. He is still figuring out his teammates and system. Cannot wait until everything clicks, best is yet to come.
Harden continues his atrocious play with Westbrook out of the line-up. 35 percent on 37 shots tonight.
Coincidence? Well...whether you believe there is correlation or not, the numbers are clear. Hopefully this trend doesn’t continue because he is hard to watch like this. Taking way too many shots when Russ doesn’t play with those horrific shooting splits. Needs to facilitate more or something.
I wouldn't say he's been terrible, but he's definitely looks worse without Westbrook shooting wise. Westbrook gives him enough him to rest out on the court and on the bench. Also, Harden doesn't tend to force up shots when Westbrook is out there.... mostly because we're not chasing the games.
Maybe it's that when Russ is out James has to compensate not just for Westbrook but for the lack of production from house and PJ also. Those two are struggling to even get shot attempts let alone putting anything into the basket. All I know is this team NEEDS Russell westbrook. Even when he isn't shooting a high percent his playmaking, energy and rebounding helps us. This going to be a tough stretch if he keeps sitting back to backs.
We look a lot more like last year standing around while james ISOs late into the clock when Russ isn't there. He just seems to get into his moves earlier when Russ is there. Everything just seems to flow and he is ridiculously efficient.
Westbrook's energy is sure great but I don't know if it's contagious. That OKC game, Westbrook was trying his best to win but the rest of the team just didn't give a damn.
Too bad we're resting a healthy Westbrook for no good reason (meanwhile, Chris Paul has started all 40 games for the Thunder).
