Lets face it, Westbrick is literally trash at this moment but he will never be a B**** like CP3 and that is something that we should all be appreciating.
Paul this year: 15 pts, 6 assists, 52.1% efg, 19.3 PER, 2.2 WS Paul last year: 15 pts, 8 assists, 50.8% efg, 19.7 PER, 6.6 WS Paul 2018: 18 pts, 8 assists, 55.0% efg, 24.4 PER, 10.2 WS Westbrook this year: 21 pts, 7 assists, 42.8% efg, 15.8 PER, 0.6 WS Compared to Westbrook, Paul was better for this team even during the year when everyone couldn't shut up about how terrible he was.
But when it mattered he was wearing a suit on the bench and he did play he got PnR to death and couldn’t adjust.
Russ is still elite. The question should be Russ or MDA? MDA saying he wants Russ to be "Russ" is just a lazy way of saying "I don't know how to use you - go play like it's 2017". Russ lacks discipline and focus, something we got in CP3 all the time sometimes to a fault. We need someone who can channel his energy for good than to allow senseless basketball plays. If anything, the reason games are so hard to watch this season is that we're always reacting to the defense and very rarely dictating the pace of the game. More coaching and instilling focus to be consistent on something.... anything.... would make us elite. I'm still counting on Russ to be the key to unlocking peak- Rockets basketball.
“When it mattered” he was willing the rockets to w’s. Maybe if everyone else played as hard as he did he wouldn’t have had to.
The slander on Chris Paul’s defense last year is so annoying. Where the hell did this myth come from?
No myth, go look at it. They ran the PnR with Green and Curry 10x in a row. PJ and CP3 couldn’t stop it. Might wanna look up the meaning of slander while you’re at it.
Try reading a bit. I wonder how he probably got hurt in the first place. While half the team was all lackadaisical or just not playing well he was doing all he could. And he was definitely leading them to w’s prior. The rockets wouldn’t have got that far without him Or put gs on the brink of elimination in the first place. yeah he was on the bench. it definitely showed they couldn't do it without him
It isn't a myth. I am not even talking about the PnR defense. He was no longer quick enough to stay in front of the elite PGs in the league. . It wasn't that he wasn't trying, because he would try, and then foul or just get burned. It shouldn't be a surprise. That is what happened. He was no longer capable of staying with quicker guards in the league.
CP3 has always had hammy issues since like 2012-13. You can try to spin it into he plays “hard” but to say everyone else wasn’t is just wrong. Either way I agree we needed both of them to win, but CP3 isn’t the 2017 version we needed.
what a great thread. did i say great? sorry, i meant douchey. Give the guy at least two months before you completely write him off. lol one thing i do know...Russ is on the court playing. Why don't we see who is still on the court for his team a month from now.
