The reasoning is that since America is open to homosexuals, God has cursed the country, and every tragedy is God's way of showing anger, and God's judgmenet/anger should be celebrated.
I don't even understand what these people are trying to do? Too many crazies of all kinds in the world.
They are disguising their hatred as "The will of God", they are the originators of the "God hates ****" signs being held up everywhere. They represent everything wrong with religion, and I'm pretty sure if Jesus ever came back to Earth, he'd probably tell them to eat a saucer of dick milk.

I watched the video Mathloom posted. These people are so strongly fixated on homosexuality. With all that goes on in the world, why is that the one "sin" they seem most concerned about? My guess: the family patriarch/church founder came out to and hit on one of his best friends when he was younger and was permanently emotionally damaged by the rejection.
Its just one sick family not some huge organized church. Why is everyone so worried about interviewing them and watching them. They just want notoriety. If you ignore them they'll go away but if they're invited on Fox, CNN and Tyra Banks' show they'll continue.
Wow, I am in shock to learn about this group of nuts. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. I just feel sad and angry that our world has people like this. People are so emotional about this tragedy, I'm really concerned that violence may break out at this funeral, and that would be horrible.
Just read this on wikipedia: "In November 2010, WBC members were picketing a soldier's funeral in Oklahoma; when their van's tires were slashed, local towing companies refused to assist them in any way. In response, the group declared that God was now punishing Oklahoma by killing its children, and vowed to begin picketing children's funerals." That's just sickening.

They seem to think this is the only state-sponsored sin. The lack of logic stems from the head of the church, the big daddy, who essentially acts as their pope. He seems to have a deep hatred for homosexuality and prying questions. This especially makes sense when you take into consideration how much money he is taking from the church members (they work just to support the church activities) just for preaching whatever he wants. It's just so twisted, I hope you watched the whole thing. The interviewer is so good at bringing to light the emotional struggle that the daughter is going through which is masked by killing emotion to the point of numbness.
Why don't crazy people ever shoot other crazy people? You'd think Loughner, nut that he is, would have been drawn to these piles of feces dressed in people clothes. I know you're not supposed to advocate violence or whatever because it's morally wrong and blah blah blah. But would any of us be too upset if someone planted a car bomb in the WBC van? Not saying someone should do it, but would you mind terribly if it happened? If these people only exist to bring hate and pain to innocents, maybe they should be shown the door. We could at least deport them.
