Where Bartlet nominates two members to the Supreme Court -- one extreme right, one extreme left. Season 6 I believe. Wait, Ainsley gets to go to the bathroom in Leo's closet, but I have to go outside to smoke a cigarette?
I am really going to miss the show. I have been loyal since the 2nd season. I'm not sure this season as a whole has been one of the better ones, but the last 4 episodes have been epic. The next one will be very tough to watch with the death of Leo. Heck, I still shed a small tear everytime I see the MASH episode when Henry dies, and I've seen that hundreds of times. IMO, Santos wins. I think they actually gave it away in the season opener with the "flash-foward" to the opening of Bartlett's library. Josh was there and president that got out of the car seemed to be Santos. It doesn't bother me that this season has been Law & Order like. These are typical situations of any presidential election. I hope this gets picked up by TNT. Bravo has shown fewer and fewer episodes as they transfer into "All Gay TV All The Time."
thanks nug 4 just finished watching it completely agree, a great episode think they handled the Leo death really well loved the line about Bartlett's son in law's loss.... a victory for his congressional district once again loved foo fighter, but what a golden opportunity to have DMB playing on stage... damn
According to O'Donnell (the exec producer), Vinick was supposed to win but after John Spencer died they decided that losing Leo and the election would be too much of an emotional hit for the regular characters. Last night was pretty good. And I've gotta say I was genuinely happy to see those guys celebrating after all the Leo stuff. Josh's closing line ("Thanks, boss.") was gold. As ambivalent as I've been toward this season I'm so sad it's going to be over soon. It's been such a special show.
The next episode is going to be a tearjerker. My mom barely made it through last night's. She called me after it was over crying and saying, "That was wonderful and awful at the same time".
Absolutely. How many times has something like this happened in television history? One of the actors who portrays a main character dies while the show is still on and they write that death into the show?
not very often i would guess RM95 sort a bizarrre and interesting twist with the show ending and then his death and the effect this has had on the plot... i mean if Jon Spencer doesn't die, does Leo still die in the show??
There was an article in the NYT yesterday that says that the writers really had to scramble. Apparently before John Spencer's death, the winner was going to be Arnold Vinnick.
Wow, if that was the ending b/f, they had to really scramble and re-shot some stuff...It was a great episode...The highs and lows were tough...It is a great show, but was even better in the early seasons...Kinda wish it was hanging around...
I find that pretty hard to believe. For the same reasons extolled by Chris Rock on why you won't find a black Vice President. This episode was fabulous, but I've pretty much lost interest in the rest of the season, since the show is ending. I'll still watch to see how everything turns out, but it's just not the same.
I don't like the Seaborn idea personally. I don't know, I was never 100% sold on Sam in the first place I guess. As for Vinnick, I can't see that happening, not even in West Wing world. Baker's a damn good guess though and makes sense. I bet you're right there.
