    I'll say it.

These "folks" aren't voting for Clinton. They are simply voting against Obama, and doing so for one reason only. That reason is because of the color of his skin.

So you're calling them racist? Can you not see any redeeming qualities in Hillary that would encourage them to vote for her?

There does seem to be some antecedental evidence of this.

    --------------

Good Morning America, on the scene in West Virginia, introduced their viewers to Janis. She's not a particularly enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter, but for her, Hillary has got one thing on Barack Obama: she's not a Muslim. Of course, neither is Obama.

Actually that piece you posted has nothing to do with his skin color. Swing and a miss

    Non-news

CNN will declare Hillary the winner at 7:31 PM and the Clinton machine will drone on about how important the win is.

Meanwhile Obama supporters will basically say "SCOREBOARD" for a solid three hours.

It's like the last minute of a UT - Rice Football game, the score is OUT OF REACH and the owls kick a field goal. Completely pointless.

    Fixed.

Hillary doesn't have the elevation to get her shot off consistently. We've been waiting to see if she'll get lucky and hit a few in a row, but Obama's hit his free throws and played good D, so the game is over even though there are a few ticks left. She'll get a garbage basket or two, but it won't change the outcome.

    Almost heaven, west virginia
    Blue ridge mountains, shenandoah river
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

    Country roads, take me home
    To the place, I be-long
    West virginia, mountain momma
    Take me home, country roads

All my memries, gather round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

    Country roads, take me home
    To the place, I be-long
    West virginia, mountain momma
    Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice, in the mornin hours she calls to me
The radio reminds me of my home far a-way
And drivin down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

    Country roads, take me home
    To the place, I be-long
    West virginia, mountain momma
    Take me home, country roads

WV represents a problem, no doubt about it. Obama will need the support of people who do not currently name him as the top candidate.

    But as a reality check.
    • HRC has had most resources of the democratic party at her disposal since 1992; follow the polls over the past year, rather than the last week, and you see a different story. She was Goliath.

    • Just because certain voters prefer HER to Obama now, it does not logically follow that they prefer MCCAIN to Obama in November.

Some might. Some will. We Obama supporters should not blow it off.

    But look
    1) if you have any semblance of hope that HRC has a drip of decency in her (which can be tough to imagine sometimes...) - or just instincts of self-preservation, more realistically - she will need to help deliver these people as best as she can.

    2) As anyone old enough to pronounce "Dukakis" knows, polls in the summer are revealing and important in terms of making a strategy, but ultimately count for diddly squat.

    3) These polls point to the current concerns in Obama's coalition, to be sure. But what the hell are you going to do - discount the rules of the entire process because you're afraid whites won't vote for a mixed race candidate? How many decades do you suggest we go backwards for that?

What you do is, listen, understand, respond and campaign. It's important. But it's not fatal if you know how to run a campaign. And I dont care if you like Obama or not, you absolutely can not argue with his ability to manage a campaign. He took down Goliath this year.

To suggest that a political challenge is a candidate's worst nightmare is silly. It would be NICE for republicans if it were an insurmountable nightmare, but it is not. It's not nothing. It's something. It's not everything.

Congrats HRC, enjoy your victories. We look forward to your active participation in bringing your coalition into the fold next month.

As for the liberal-bashing-fetishists, so fringe and marginalized by the electorate in 2008, whose sole connection to the democratic process is to tear down the candidates (McCain included) who transcend the bitter selfishness of the Limbaugh Era, who have no candidate likeminded enough to even support this year, I honestly think a hobby to vent misanthropy would be more relaxing and effective for your health than perseverative hyperventilation about politics on a basketball BBS during 'work' hours. Weekend paintball, live action role playing, or something. But someone needs to forward these posts - not the content, the frequency - the someone's employer or clientele or whatever. It is a staggering amount of time. All. Day. Long.

Are you serious? Are you seriously making this argument? That because his handlers gave him good words to mouth from teleprompters, and put in place an organization and a nice logo, and a nice marketing spiel, that somehow he is fit for the Presidency? Heck, why don't we just promote the Vice President of Marketing at GEICO to the Presidency? That gecko advert has tripled their business!

Unreal, the lack of depth to your argument, CBrownFanClub, unreal. What are the man's principles, his values, his executive experience, his fitness to be Commander-in-Chief? Those are the questions. Not whether he is a successful marketer. I know you are simply parroting the stock response of Barakakis to the question of experience, so for that I do not place the blame 100% on you, but come on, man up and admit that's a shallow argument on your part. Very shallow. You are smarter than that.

I've seen a lot of that mentality, unfortunately.
