I told everyone that the Kings would suprise you guys this year. Almost every single person stated that they would not do that well this year.

And they still havent got Webber back yet.

    ;)

    LOL!

The Suns have fallen bad. The Mavs are also way below expectations. Nobody mentioned Denver in the playoffs. If only you can see the future. . .

I thought the Kings would be just as good, if not better than they were last year also. Alas though, I predicted them as a 4th or 5th seed just because I thought Dal, LA, Minny and SA would all be just as improved if not more so.

Everyone who predicted a huge drop off for the Kings are eating crow. ;)

Im not really a kings far or anything but if i had to pick a team to win, and it not being the rockets i would pick them.

If they dont win this year i think that they will be just as good as next year. But i think them being just inches away from winning every year might take the wind out of there sails.

    1. Kings
    2. Spurs
    3. Lakers
    4. T'Wolves
    5. Rockets
    6. Mavericks
    7. Nuggets
    8. Blazers

It might be better though if we play the Lakers instead of the T'Wolves. I don't know how we match up with the Wolves this year (not until Saturday anyways), but we always play the Fakers real well and beat them most of the time.

MVP: Hopefully, KG - I'm tired of seeing Duncan get it

No offense guy, but....LOL @ Rockets at #2.

In my opinion, they will be 7th or 8th seed if we're lucky.

Here's my (almost) midseason adjusted prediction

    1. T-wolves
    2. Spurs
    3. Lakers
    4. Kings
    5. Rockets
    6. Mavs
    7. Denver
    8. Memphis
    9 Seattle
    10. Utah

At begining of the season I thought all teams but Utah and Golden State had a shot at a playoff spot. Now I think it is clear it's a 10 teams for 8 spots race. Phoenix has decided to start over, while Portland and the Clippers, while having enough talent to make a run, have really fallen behind on easy schedules (POR: 21 HM : 17 RD games so far, LAC 22HM : 15 RD games so far)

    Other notes:

T-wolves have had the toughest schedule so far, 17 HM : 21 RD games. Expect them to finish with a #1 seed, as they have a more favorable schedule from now on. Plus they'll get some help. Kandi is an upgrade over Earvin No Magic Johnson, and Wally and T-Hud could be a formidable bench unit to spell Spree/Sam. KG has been the best player in the league the last couple of seasons, it's amazing what he had acomplished with a bunch of scrubs and journeymen, now he has legitimate teammates and he'll get the MVP.

Expect the Rockets to move up, really easy schedule for February and March, a lot of home games.

    Dalas is in turmoil.

Memphis will make the playoffs. They had tough schedule (17 HM : 21 RD ), went through the dry spell that most teams go at some point of the season, from now on they should be moving up.

Sacto and Lakers have had easy schedules so far, both will finish with worse records than Minny and Spurs.

Utah is just mind boggling, if they are in contention with a month to go with their joke of a roster, with Harping out, with what Sloan has to go through, it would be one of the greates team achievements in sports.

Yetti I agree with you that the Blazers will likely miss the playoffs this year. Everyone else it seems is still living in last year.

Right now the Blazers are second to last in the Western conference. They have the equal record as the Miami Heat (actually the Heat might actually have a better record after that loss yesterday). Nothing in their history the past few seasons make me believe that they are capable of a end of season surge. I think the playoff run ends here.

The only thing I disagree with you about is the Kings are ranked too low. They are playing solid ball right now. Even if they never get Webber back they should be in the top 5.

Everyone in the midwest has a playoff spot. Our division is without a doubt the toughest in the NBA. And to think New Orleans will be coming in next year to make it even more ridiculous.

Man so many lists have phoenix and portland in the playoffs. Both those teams are dead last in the conference. Portland is currently 6.5 games back of the 8th spot and Phoenix is currently 8.5 games back of the 8th spot. Nothing they have done this year shows me that they will be able to crawl back.

    1. Sacramento (Offense is so potent and webber comes back and makes defense that much better)
    2. Minnesota (Playing consistent enough to eek out the top spot in the midwest once their injured get back)
    3. Spurs (Puts enough cushion between themselves and the lakers while they are injured to keep the 3rd spot)
    4. Lakers (Peaks at the right time and finds an adequate defense for a major playoff run)
    5. Dallas (Makes another big trade only to finally discover they should have never tinkered that much with the team in the first place. Faces Lakers in 1st round and gets knocked out)
    6. Houston (Chemistry improves throughout with an improved chemistry off the bench as well. Rotation is solidifed and it's a close race for the last 3 spots. Yao and Duncan equalize each other in the playoffs and jim jackson is the difference in a 6 game victory for the rockets)
    7. Memphis (All youngsters begin to see the light and their low minutes for all the players keep them healthy throughout the season for an amazing turnaround from last year. Garnett shows memphis what real athleticism is. He carries wolves on his back and finally makes it to the second round)
    8. Denver (solid play from another season surprise. Able to hold off Seattle and surging clippers from overtaking the 8th. Webber reinjures himself in the playoffs and Camby surprisingly stays healthy through out and dominates the interior for the nuggest to surprise the Kings in 7. Carmelo does his best impersonation of Mutombo lying on the court with ball in hand.)

Though I have a bad feeling we might drop to 7th or 8th. Great wins last couple of games but still waiting for the consistency. Cross my fingers though. :) GO ROCKETS!!
