Ah I remember the good ol days when North Side would beef with South Side and who's side was the best in htown. I think the South side won that back in the 90s-2000s. Katy is the king of Houston imo. Ya'll can't tell me they won that war.

No it is real, and the deeper you dig into it, the worse it really is.

You can really start digging into it if you want. I live here, and I mentor in these areas of town and I can tell you that it is 100% real.

90% of Chicago is very very safe, then another 5% is sketchy and the last 5% is the worst in the USA.

You can look up "Murder FBG Duck", "Murder King Von", "KTS Von" and many others..........

The Chicago police department will tell you that they now solve 40% of murders in the city.... but what they fail to tell you is that they consider murders "solved" when there is no charges ever filed and no one is ever arrested, all they have to do is say "X is suspected of committing the murder" and it is considered solved. Last year they closed 125 murders as "solved" when no one was ever arrested or charged. Overall only 20% of murders where the victim was black were solved in Chicago..... when you break it down to in the inner city, it goes down to nearly 10%.

Drill rappers in Chicago actually include explicit details of the murders they have committed in this songs.

    https://www.complex.com/music/2012/...leases-beef-video-gets-killed-twitter-reacts/

Here is an article on rapper Lil Reese that is from the worst neighborhood, he is known to have killed another gang member. He is called the "Grim Reaper" and is one of the most respected gang members with the black disciples. He is suspected to have a body count of around a dozen. He has almost died several times from being shot. He was shot twice last year.

    https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/loc...r-drose-gets-40-years-for-teens-murder/29922/

Here is D.Rose, another rapper and gang member. He finally was caught on a murder charge. He is suspected of a body count of over a dozen.

Rapper KTS Von was one of the most feared gang members for the Gangster Disciples. KTS stood for "Kill to Survive". He always had a big smile when I saw him and he was very polite. From what I was told and read though, he was very feared and was the top hitman for his gang. He had a body count in double digits. He was murdered and shot over 60 times walking out of a store.... a few years later his brother was shot in the face over 30 times in front of his mother.

    https://www.lezeto.com/kts-vons-dead-body-pic-shows-he-was-shot-64-times/

"King Von" was the last big rapper killed (and the young man I knew) as a leader of the gangster disciples. He is known to have killed women, and many others. He was charged with some murders outside of Chicago while touring as well. He attacked another rapper from Chicago and was murdered.

So no, it IS real and it is the Wild West or Al Capone era stuff going on in 2022..... it doesn't get more attention with white people, people in the suburbs because these kids are killing each other only and other poor black people in their area. The police largely do not care, and the city of Chicago largely doesn't care. I have people in Chicago asking me why I have even bothered caring or getting involved.

The whole Cho v. Woo drill war is a fascinating rabbit hole -- I've only read about NY but it is wild.

I've been to Chicago. Always stay near the Miracle Mile. It's too cold for me though.

Growing up I always considered Corporate (continue north and south of the actual street to continue the line) to be the Western border of Sharpstown to Alief. I knew kids in apartments just West who were Alief ISD.
Also I think Richmond is too far north for Sharpstown. More like Harwin. Not sure.

I have no problem with Corporate or Ranchester or St Agnes as being the Western Edge of Sharpstown and moving the Northern boundary down to Harwin - Westpark Tollway. St Agnes to the Sam Houston Tollway is about a mile and the Westpark Tollway to Richmond Avenue is also about a mile.

I don't know much about Strake, but they do seem to be similar to St Agnes in that they are going to stay in that location. Maybe there are long range plans to relocate one or both schools that I don't know about. Since St Agnes opened the sports facility at Fondren @ Bellaire, that suggests they are going to stay in the area.

It is interesting to see the vehicles that represent Money going in and out of those two schools versus the neighborhood that they are in.

One of the guys that I used to play pickup basketball quite a bit with with was from New Jersey. Some of the youngsters that we were playing against were really cocky and maybe had gang ambitions. My friend laughed and said that those guys would be nothing if they were in his old neighborhood in East Orange, New Jersey.

Another person that I met from New Jersey said much the same thing in that the tough guys in the Houston area wouldn't look that tough if they went to the East Coast.

So the Houston area has some bad people, but we could have it worse.

I see a lot about Sharpstown here being the hood.

y’all need to dust off your 20 year old takes and realize the hood has moved to the suburbs and has been since the inner loop and frankly inside of the beltway has become too expensive to live in for poor folks. There’s a strip on fondren where they have Salata, Jersey mikes, etc.

You need to look at Humble and Katy for poor people now. Lol.
