You have a really short memory, don't you? I made that comment only because of this: See, this is where you asked me my opinion on the matter. Do I think the East is better than the West? I answered that I don't think either conference is better because "better" is too subjective now. Why do you get to decide what the "core" issue is? What if I think the core issue is that SIX of the SEVEN worst teams in the league play in the West? What if I think the core issue is that there are THREE teams in the East that would beat any team in the west besides the Lakers in a first round playoff series? I'm not saying the East is better than the West. I'm not saying the West is better than the East. I'm saying that I'm happy that the league finally has two good conferences, instead of a varsity and a JV.
People make their judgement on different standards. To sum up: Top 3 in each conference are nearly even, slight edge to the East. Top 8 in each conference goes to the West. All teams, top to bottom, slight edge to the East. The West basically has the edge in that meaty part of the bell curve, while the East is better at the outliers. If we're comparing CONFERENCES, why is it ok to dismiss every team that doesn't make the playoffs? You're just being selective to win an argument in that regard. The conferences are competitively close overall.
