Don't worry. CD has outstanding ability to wait until the end of the summer to sign someone cheap.

Role players have to be very cheap. That is the key of Rox FA signing.

Why would Wesley want a sign and trade? He isn't worth more money, and has no further need of Bird Rights. Cleveland might want a sign and trade so that their overall salary doesn't go up. But, I don't see them caring much about it either.

No, we lost Gay, Swift, Bogans, and Wesley

I would not be sure to take the latter at all.

Here is all i have to say on this matter. We had Wesley's bird rights which meant we could have done a sign and trade.

Not that we'd get anything too significant out of it, Luke Jackson maybe, who could possibly get some minutes at the 2/3 spot, make a competition out of it.

but i'd rather see Wesley go than stay. He is done being an effective NBA player and this contract he signed was the last NBA contract of his career. Cleveland will barely notice his precense in the second half and during the playoffs.

I beleive he's speaking in reference to last year's squad, which Gay was not a part of. In comparison to last year, we're better squad already and thus should have a much better season (assuming we all stay healthy).

In general, sign & trades are designed to allow teams to sign players they would normally be unable to sign due to cap space or RFA status. This situation didn't qualify under either circumstance.

Darn - now we have nothing to show for the Jim Jackson trade. ;)
