Because House hit 123 three pointers last season at a 39% clip. If neither can play defense at least one of them can add something the Rox actually need.

Good riddance. Even better if they have a small TE they can package with a 2nd for him. Works on both ends, they still have LLE..we get TE and 2nd, just hope they have one.

I for one want to say Thank You David for the too few years of faithful service. You always came to play and gave it your best. Even when odds were really stacked against you as they were this past season. You were one of the few we could count on. I wish you the very best with NO and with whatever remains to your career.

We didnt like the idea of Wesley guarding the Kobe's of the league but at least he was there ON THE COURT doing it for the most part. Unlike all the other veteran acquisitions of the past couple years who were either mostly on the injured list (Sura, Barry) or were out there really sucking, like JUWAN (Deke doesnt count). He should get a bit of thanks instead of shown the door.

But its been time to go with size and athleticism...I dont see how he'd lend much to Cleveland either.

Wesley can go. The Rockets already have a young David Wesley in the making in Luther Head. Short SG that can knock down the 3, penetrate, and is a thief on defense.

I really hope Wesley signs with Cleveland, all I can say is good riddance if he does.

If not, I am worried JVG might suddenly want him back and CD will be talking about how great it was getting him back......................

I have absolutely lost any care for David Wesley. Getting him was a mistake in the first place.

i like wesley but he was never the same after the knee surgery last off season.
    bon voyage.

p.s. maybe theyll take Sura too. One less injury to worry about.

Thats kind of harsh. I was not excited about getting Wesley at all when we did but he played pretty well while he was here. I do think his time in the league is coming to a close though.

Good luck to David over in The Land of the Bron. He was a contributor in HOU for two years.

I don't understand why people has to be bitter toward Wesley. He was a role player and did his job. It's not his fault Yao, McGrady, and half of the team got injured.

Rockets move in a different direction, life goes on.

Wesley should be a great addition to Cleveland. He will give them more defense than Damon Jones will.

Hmmmm..... Maybe it was because of his performance on the Dal-Hou series? I dunno if it was his or JVG's fault assigning him to Stack on D, but that made me realize that he wasn't supposed to be here. Grit and faithfulness, I can give him that, but not the roster spot.

Agree completely. Wesley was as reliable as they come. Tough defender, good shooter, smart and heady. He seemed to be one of the few who actually respond very well to Van Gundy's abrasive style of coaching. I hope he does well in Cleveland and I'm glad he's going to a contender.

Interesting news from CLE... David is getting 2 years and 3.6 mil form the Cavs, it also says the Wesley deal means they are shipping Damon Jones out. Another item there is that they are looking into an S&T for Gooden...

Now, I don't think there's any way Gooden is within the Rockets budget or fit with their game plan (been linked with several teams, none of which is HOU).. but Damon Jones might be interesting... Rockets do want a backup PG who can shoot. DJones is expensive at 4 mil a year for 3 years, but perhaps with the right incentive, they can work out some sort of package. Particularly, if the Rockets gets to send Juwan over to CLE to take some of Gooden's minutes. Maybe get back DJones and Ira Newble would be realistic.

Another thing could be sending Juwan and either Lurther Head or a first round pick, with Ryan Bowen as a cap filler for Damon Jones and Donyell Marshall. Maybe also agree to eat Ira Newble with part of that trade exception to make the deal happen.

Just speculations.. but the stuff happening in Bron Land could create some opportunities for HOU to make some deals with them or with whoever is trying to get Drew Gooden.

I agree, this guy had so many open shots last year and struggled. It's about time we got younger and more athletic players.
