It would be a devastating injury for them if not for the Afflalo trade. I realize that's still a downgrade, but I think they can still do damage in the west. Their main guns are Lillard and Aldridge. Lopez, Batum, and Afflalo are still damn good starters. It's their bench they have to worry about. Sucks for Matthews' upcoming free agency though. He'll definitely take a hit as an Achilles rupture will probably affect his career.
ugh, why couldn't it have happened in the playoffs last year. Would've easily taken the series, he was playing killer defense on Harden.
The loss of Mathews can be the difference between losing in round in 1 in 6 and making the second round.

Been pretty busy the past few days and with crappy national media coverage (almost exclusively Warriors & Cavs), this is the first I've heard of his season being over. Wes is one of my favorite players in the league and it sucks for such a brutal injury to happen, best of wishes for the fullest recovery possible.

I've been fighting through tendinitis in my left Achilles tendon for quite some time now, so watching that is incredibly frightening. Hate seeing injuries like this.
I wonder if Wes for MLE would be more valuable than llull for MLE. Id much rather take wes and bring back bev and target pg via trade/draft
Damn I missed that. No way a team gives him 15per especially after that injury. Cap increase be damned.
I know the cap is going up, but he wasn't a 15 mpy player when healthy. Maybe at 15 mpy for a single year given the free agents coming down the pike next year. Otherwise? Nope.
