Age will take care of itself; dumb is not so easily remedied. I have consistently had the same opinion of Frances and Mobley since they arrived. Great athletic talents, BUT an undisciplined "street baller" mentality that has changed little and ALWAYS "takes over" in the "heat" of a game.

I was against it before, but I'd trade Mobley for Brent Barry in a heartbeat. If Francis doesn't like it, we'll trade him. He doesn't play deefnse, and doesn't bring offense consistently, and isn't a good passer. I mean, what exactly does he do that's MAX quality?

    I'm all for patience.

At the same time, it would be nice for the patience to be rewarded with growth. This team has down well on the defensive side, particularly for a young team. There have been some nice surprises this year, like Yao's early contributions and Cato's growth.

But I'm fed up with the street ball crap too. How many times have we tried to force the ball into a mass of defense around the basket, because either that pass or shot would be spectacular...if it were successful.

The second part of the problem is the 'selfish' ball. I don't think it's as evil as some here think (remember the Payton commercial? :) ). I think that our guards just don't know better, with the exception of moochie who used to know better but somehow decided it was better for him to dribble around than pass the ball.

I'm sure that we would be much more successful right now if Yao hadn't hit a wall and we had a viable 3-point threat, but the underlying issues would still be there, and it's just not getting better. I can accept the mistakes... if we improve.

True. Youth can't be an excuse forever...

Sooner or later, we'll just be left with "dumb and dumber." :D

    ROCKHead,

Could you go to work on that picture? Haha, I'm sure you can do a whole lot of fun things with that. You always seem to be the creative one.
