USA all the way, no doubt. I was happy for Yao and wanted to see him succeed, but I ended up just wanting him to sit down and rest and not injure himself. But hey, hes a patriot too, right?
i was actually rooting for the clock to go faster hoping Yao could escape that game without tearing or breaking something
Allowing people to terrorize your nation and lying about it is even worse.. see "Leader of America".. what's worse?
seems guys rooting for china are more than for usa, it equals guys are a rockets man more than a american,
I have no idea where you are going with this, but I was referring to his quote that we're traitors for rooting for Boozer and Williams. We're talking Basketball here.
i was hoping yao would dominate dwight but that the USA would win. I just hope yao didnt get hurt he fell a few times and limped away.
I was rooting for USA as well but I wanted to see yao do well more than USA win. I am: 1st. Houstonian 2nd. Texan 3rd. American. Call me a traitor if you will but i DO NOT love my country more than i love my city or state. This is the reason I chose to root for Yao over USA. If USA won and Yao put up 40 and 20 that was best case scenario for me personally.
Let's say you were cheering x% for China to win in support of Yao, and y% (= 100 - x) for Team USA in support of your home country. No matter what "x" happpened to be for you personally, the fact that Sun Yue is a soon to be dirty cheating no-good Faker had to bump it down by at least 15 percentage points.
I rooted for China. I'm just not very attached to Team USA, and if China won it would be a far more compelling story. If team USA didn't have an overwhelming talent advantage, I might be more emotionally invested in how they play. If they play a team roughly at their level, like Spain, I'd root for USA.
The Atlanta Hawks winning the championship would be a compelling story. But it would be a completely stupid reason to want them to beat the Rockets in the finals.
I'm new so I can't make posts but can someone post this? http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/aug/10/olympics2008.olympicsbasketball Olympics: Spain basketball team pictured in controversial pose ยท Advert could lead to backlash from Chinese hosts * Guardian staff * guardian.co.uk, * Sunday August 10 2008 05:54 BST * Article history Spain basketball team Spain's men's basketball team pose for the advert. Photograph: Public domain Spain's Basketball Federation has published a good luck advert for their men's team, the world champions, in which they stand pulling at the sides of their eyes in a slit-eyed gesture. There is no obvious intention to upset their Olympic hosts in Beijing, but the irresponsible picture is likely to cause controversy and could be interpreted so as to lead to accusations of racism. Spanish sport has been mired in rows over racism in the last few years. In November 2004 black English footballers were subjected to relentless racial barracking from home supporters in a match in Spain. Before the World Cup there were calls for Luis Aragones, then Spain's football coach, to be sacked after he called Thierry Henry a "black +!%*". And last year Lewis Hamilton suffered racist abuse during testing for the Spanish grand prix near Barcelona. Spain play their first match in the Olympic basketball competition against Greece at 7.30am BST today.
Because you're posting on a Rockets fan site. As a US citizen, I'm going for the home team and not a compelling story. I'm still rooting for Yao to do well (and to stay healthy).
those rooting for either china or USA which would you rather have 1. Your team(USA or china) wins gold medal. Rockets another first rd exit 2. Rockets win championship. Your team (USA or china) doesn't medal
I love the USA...but for me this is easy....I would rather the USA not medal and the Rockets win a championship....every single year baby !! DD
