Why do you lie? You know Rafer was on the bench all the time for his first two playoffs, do you? Why did you still count those zero into his average?

His stats in the last playoff:

    14.3 pts 43.8% FG 44% 3p 80% FT

    Tmac at the same time:

    42.5% FG 21% 3p 62% FT

In addition, Rafer is a 2nd round playoff player

Rafer Alston has always played well when T-Mac isn't playing as a Point guard. It's really the only thing holding him back to being a potential all-star. I love what Rafer has been doing in the last 5 games, but business is business even Rafer understood that 2-3 years ago in the off-season. He said he's know it's a business thing and we have a logjam in the guards at that time. But I will miss Rafer.

I appreciate the compliment. I think it may be bumpy at first, but I'm OK with the deal (just disappointed they didn't do something bigger... but then Szczerbiak and LaFrentz didn't go anywhere either). I hope people don't jump on every loss because the next month was the tough part of the schedule, with or without Alston.

Just out of curiosity what were some of the bigger deals out there that you were hoping came to fruition?

I Wonder why the cavs could not get anything for wally he is semi productive and has 14 mil coming off the books this year.

It makes me wonder about what we will be able to get with tmacs expiring next year.

But then again tmac has a 23 mil expiring which is equal to what a max player would want per year so I guess for us it could be different. That much space could let you sign any one player in the league that wanted to play for your team.

It just wasn't the sellers market everyone had predicted.

But, from listening to Morey, he was not happy with Alston for whatever reason. After all, Alston had headed the point guard position for the past 4 years. And he had managed to beat out all of his competition.

Now, nobody has anything to really complain about; at least player wise. The two favorite whipping boys are either done for the season (McGrady) or traded out (Alston). Our remaining starters are: Yao Ming is a legit All-Star. Scola is a 12 and 8 guy with the potential to become a 15 and 10 guy. Battier is a defensive glue. Artest is the tough nosed guy everyone has been wanting for the past decade. And Brooks is the scoring point guard that will take a lot of pressure off the rest of the team. We can tell that this team will leave it on the floor.

    Yao
    Scola
    Battier
    Artest
    Brooks

    Landry
    Wafer
    Barry
    Lowry

    Chess piece guys:
Cook - When the Rockets need to bring out a 3-pointer
Hayes - When the Rockets need a dose of defense, regardless
Head - When the Rockets need a three pont shooter
Mutumbo - 6 extra fouls to use against a big center like Shaq or Howard

It's a pretty solid team, depth wise. Now will they put it all together to compete? Well we shall see.

But, we are not an all-star team by any means. This is going to have to be 100% effort, which I think this group can put out.

Les needs showcase T-mac next year. Rafer will depreciate T-mac value if he stays. I guess that's part of the deal.

i'am almost pretty sure this is how it went down:

Rafer is a pro, he gets heated sometimes, but he likes to be told things straight out. The staff understands this and knows they can be upfront with him. So i think about a month or so ago they probably sat him down and basically said, adjust your game to be more of a penetrator and creator because right now you're not providing what the offense needs. I dont think they threatened him exactly, but suggested they may have to move on with someone else if he couldnt do it consistently.

Why do i think this?? Its obvious rafer was a problem. Also, notice his assists in the last month, he's had above average numbers, sometimes 10 or 11. If you look at the games he's also gone a bit skip to my lou, as was evident with his no look and over the shoulder passes against New jersey. He's been bringing that out more in the last month, penetrating more and dishing within the paint rather than just swinging the ball around the perimeter, but i dont think it was consistent enough to convince the staff he could be that player long term.

The cavs were asking for big name guys, that's why, they wouldnt settle for equal value they wanted to get an all-star for wally. Like for example, they asked for Jamison, which was crazy in my opinion...
