Injury? Hell, let 'em finish the job. 19 guys, 15 spots, go at it, and may the fittest survive. We're not playing out there. ;)

LOL nice. Can we at least say, don't hurt Yao? We need him, the rest can go at it like cats and dogs.

That's just a "positive" competiting but It's good until it turns into a fight.
Probably every team works like that, some things that happen in locker room, stay in the locker room!

Chemistry is my number 1 concern.

If Mike James or Steve Francis or Rafer gets left out of the rotation.....they could start griping.....and that could fester.

    Evan,

No chance. They'll go in to the season four over the limit.

Seriously, preseason roster is nothing like Mad Max getting mad over Clyde's glide into town.

I know that Tmac and Yao are in the same team.. and most likely Rafer is in their team as well. That puts Francis on the other team, which you can also tell by his T. The rest is anyone's guess.

it's probably the starters on one team so most likely Battier and Scola are with t-mac and yao.

Anyone else really like Mike James interviews? They always make me want to laugh. His swagger is funny to me.

"Amityville Horror: Thats how I play, I like to scare people!"

    Funny guy.

Are we sure Scola is starting over Hayes? I've always thought that Hayes would start the season and depending on how Scola does, he'd get the nod eventually.

Not to change the topic, but don't we pretty much have the same type of player in Scola and Battier? The only difference between them is that Battier can shoot spot up 3's. So aside from that I think they're pretty redundant? Or maybe I'm wrong, I'm so tired from working all night.

What are you a girl? Grow some testicals! They're not literally fighting out there. Guys are just playing real hard because they want a spot on the team. They know whats at stake here. Remember, we have 20 guys out there, so some have more incentive to try harder than others.

Anything involving guys and sports, it's going to get "heated". It's just our nature. We want our guys playing this hard and it is only preseason! If they play this hard during scrimages, imagine how they'll play when the real thing starts. There's nothing to worry about, just 20 guys playing REAL basketball. In fact, this team needs some toughness added so this is a very good thing.

Haven't we been begging for some fight in this team? Without some of these new guys, T-Mac would be sipping piña coladas with the scrimmage opponent by early third quarter.

When they start fighting, they should be pulled apart and cuddled.

    Personally I think we're alright.

Guys, we're heading to the finals and I think our boys know this better than us. If "I" thought I was good as any starter, but found myself on the bench, well, damn, I'm not b****ing that much because of the great possibilities of holding up the trophy.

A great season plus the finals is going to look good on anyone's resume if they decided to switch teams after the season.

    It's all good.

exactly. maybe they're VERBAL fights and u know that can even happen with your brother when you play intense basketball.

JVG only ran drills and they rarely practiced like this.

LOL - I get that, but consider who those cuts/trades are most likely going to be:
Sura, JL3, Landry or Harris, Reed or Snyder

That doesn't really take care of the fact that we have 4 PGs left on the roster and....
This is what I'm worried about.

We've got 96 minutes to give out in the backcourt. Even if McGrady and Bonzi play a ton of minutes at the 3, they're still going to take at least 15 to 25 minutes from the 2-spot. And I don't know that I buy the idea of Bonzi playing the bulk of his minutes at the 3.

Either way, it would be incredibly difficult to find everyone 30 mpg on the floor, and I strongly doubt any of them (outside of Brooks) will be a good soldier about getting 20 minutes or less. Especially Francis, and he seems to be having the weakest camp.

Competition is good. Just as long as they don't hold grudges against each other come game time. With so many people in the gym right now, no one should be relaxed. Not just to make the team, but to get significant playing time.

This is exactly what we need.

We've been lacking depth, and we've been lacking passion. I want guys who are clawing at everybody, trying to get everything out of every possession because they know that if they don't, someone else on that bench will.

I mean, the writing is really on the wall. There are only so many roster spots, and more players. So I'm all for letting them have at it, and may the best survive. And if there are any that can't deal with it, I don't know if that's the kind of mental toughness that we'll need later on.
