Many of those who have not followed all of the rules may be great need also. One immigrant finally got a hearing scheduled to hear his appeal, and the INS decided to deport him prior to his hearing. There is a way to enforce laws, and a way that is disgusting. Some here are just willing to accept that whatever the INS does is great. I find it embarrassing for our country that we treat people who just want to live here like criminals. Deport them if they're here illegally, but do it right. It's not only wrong, but it's short sighted to mistreat muslim immigrants. And no one here seemed to pick-up on how we treat highly educated and wealthy immigrants so differently than others. Many of our ancestors were probably impoverished when they setlled here. Thank goodness thay came over years ago.
Why are we even worried about the "injustice" of arresting an illegal Pakistani trying to flee the country? If I were in law enforcement, considering the fact that quite a few Al Qaeda operatives are Pakistanis, I would be very curious about an illegal Pak trying to flee. I would certainly want to ask him a few questions before I deported him... Perhaps he shouldn't have tried to flee? Or better yet, perhaps he should have tried to live here legally? He should have expected something like this. I for one have no problem with detaining and questioning, and then deporting, any illegal Pakistani who is acting suspiciously here. Call me a racist or whatever for the profiling, but it aint no coincidence that there are so many Pakistanis in Guantanamo right now. Our security comes before his convenience as far as I'm concerned.
Perhaps if the system weren't so ineffective, the process so slow and costly for these people there would be less incentive for people to try to immigrate illegally. When it comes to the health, security, and future of your children versus being an illegal immigrant even Pat Buchanan would be trying to sneak across the border. And really you've got to be joking with this bank robbery to illegal immigration stuff. What next, driving with an invalid car inspection sticker compared to grand theft auto?
Obviously you read my post, since you were able to quote somthing out of the middle. I thought I made it clear that I was differentiating the profiling of these aliens from the profiling of innocent blacks who are pulled over for no reason. I guess you must agree with the rest of my post, since your only response was to ask for clarification on this one point that confused you.
Not at all. I cannot tell whether you're being obtuse to annoy, because we're having a communication problem, or because it comes naturally, so I tried to boil it down to the main issue. Why do we treat these people like hardened criminals? If you have no problem with the way these people are mishandled, we have nothing further to discuss on the issue.
