I saw warriors were playing there in the forth quarter! I am very proud of those players! Why was Yao disappointed?
He was saying those in the fourth quarter were getting it done and doing well. That he was disappointed they had done so poorly prior to that.
he did fine. it's not so important to translate anything other than direct quotes which people are interested in most. the context is relevant only if it's the questions asked or other direct quotes from yao. it's clearly not the case in this article. the context you're talking about in this article is the reporter's own view backed up by yao's quotes. while i'm sure some of us here are interested in the reporter's view, but not translating it doesn't make it misleading or trolling.
Then he will just repeat the same crap Tracy did and realize it is not the team you are on it's YOU! It's Yao!
That is not fine with me. The missing context is not meant to be the view of the reporter. It is meant to be the other part of the quotes. It is misleading. It misled someone in a way to teach Yao how to talk, i.e., to put himself on the table first, then say "but ...". As a matter of fact, Yao said first he was not satisfied with himself as a starter, while praising some players from the bench. That is called misleading.
From your reply, I assume you can read Chinese pretty well. If so, I don't get it why you think bob did a good job.
i was referring to the first article he translated. he didn't miss a quote. i didn't know he did an update with another article later. yeah, he missed a quote in that second article. but the poster i replied to obviously has a problem with his original translation of quotes only from the first article, which is fine with me.
i don't think he did a good job translating the whole article. i just think, in this particular case, translation of quotes only from the first article isn't misleading or trolling. and in my opinion, it's not always necessary to tranlate sina/sohu articles in a whole because it's my impression that most US fans here don't care about chinese reporters' views anyway.
Yao needs to STFU and produce. He needs to man up in the paint and stop being the girl in the whorehouse !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the girl talk Yao *snif snif*... later on I'll invite you over for a tea party so we can talk about our bf's and happy dance all day.
If I were an Asian fan....TRYING to get people some info and they were so b**chy about it...I would just stop posting info....Even posts from people here are misleading or inacurate...do your own research if it bothers you so much. Show them why America is such a great country and we can respect other peoples views, opinions, and right to post things on an OPEN FORUM.
Did anyone read that part that Yao said he does not deserve to be a starter in last game in tha article? How can people conveniently ignore that part?
wtf did people get their quote from?!!! Here is the tilte of that Chinese article 姚明自批没资格打主力:只有火箭替补才重视比赛 Let me TRANSLATE this for you Yao self-criticized himself for not qualifying to be the starter (in last game), he said only the subs played hard in the game WTF, WTF, WTF, How did people get the impression that Yao was criticizing the players played in the forth quarter?!!!!!! Looks like a lot of mis-quote purposed by YOH fans to throw Yao under the bus when he had a bad game. Please let me know if you need me to translate the whole article for you!
Everybody seems to forget that EVEN the great Hakeem Olajuwon, the Greatest Rocket of all time, publicly demanded a trade in 1992... However, once the Rockets saw how frustrated he was, they made changes, and brought in players who fit him perfectly. Its okay to be frustrated, its a part of human nature. Especially for Yao, who puts so much work into his game and athletecism. When a competetive player like Yao loses, he takes it very hard. Theres a reason why he is the hardest working player in the NBA, theres a reason why he plays year-round, theres a reason why he is so athletic and gifted for his size, and theres a reason why he came back from his injury the way he did. The reason is, he loves this game. He goes out and earns his money. Just look at how his conditioning improved. Look how much his minutes per game have increased AFTER an injury season. Being a man of his size, there is only so much he can do. He's not a guard that can control a game at all times like Jordan could. Like Hakeem, Yao needs people to get him the ball where he can score. Hakeem was a more versatile than Yao, but for the most part, he needed a post entry pass like Yao does. Also, how do you expect Yao to score when he has 2 players guarding before he gets the ball? The rest of the team needs to hit shots or drive to the basket.
That's the biggest bullcrap I have even seen on this board. No one cares this team more than Yao! Everyone else in this team has lots of personal life besides their "job" to play for Rockets, but Yao is different! The purpose of his life is dedicated to bball from some point of view.
Yao needs to Shuuuu..The..F........Upppppp... if his teammates are sucking then... call for the ball.... and then shoot the damn ball... even if he is trippled teamed... screw passing... it... if he cant get it done for us...in the next few years... then trade him....
