Wow he had a good pre-season game? Is Rudy working on a new 6 year 42 million dollar deal again?
Again key word is pre-season game. Frankly I do think Collier will be a midicore role player in the NBA and Pryz will be a quality center, but we must keep in mind that we did add a 1st round pick next year that we owe to another team for some of our other trades.
I would much rather have Pryz, but I need to wait to pass final judgement to see who we add in next years draft.

I do wonder if Bobby Knight helps out Isiah in Detroit if Collier will quit and go to the CBA??? [IMG] [IMG]

    KidRock8,

Eat a little crow and be a man about it. Collier is no and will be no Wilt Chamberlain, Dream or Kareem. Collier is a solid back-up, but that's what the Rockets wanted.

Collier had a good game. How about saying "cool" instead of being an ass about it?

I'm glad to see that Collier put up this performance against the intimidating presence of Ben Wallace, who is obviously the second-coming of Mutombo.

Collier should have no problem repeating this 11-7-1 gem night-in, night-out. He's no longer a bust after this career night. This was one of those games...like...

"the night he poured in 63 points, the day he found Dwight Clark in the end zone...and someday you wish you could be that perfect to...and that's why you root for them..."

I'll say it once, and I'll say it again: COLLIER IS A BUM, plain and simple.

Behad-Excuse me for having a life... If you and The Cat sit on the computer all day and wait for me to respond to you, then I suggest you get yourself a LIFE... I apologize for having a math test last night, I should have skipped that so I can hear The Cat praise himself for Collier's Chamberlain-esque dominant game...

Once again, I apologize for the fact that you don't have a life, and I do...

God, I hope The Cat wasn't here "for hours" waiting for me to respond...

Pass 1st-Don't you think The Cat was being an "ass" by starting this thread??? After every game in which Collier doesn't do **** which will be many, I'll start a thread titled, "Well well well... Who was that who is suffering from bench splinters in his ass??" And I'd like to see The Cat post on that thread with some class...

    KidRock8,

You started this mess with a "Collier sucks" ridden thread, and by commenting upon Collier after every pre-season game about what a waste of sperm you think him to be. The Cat started that thread to give you a taste of your own medicine. Tastes like crap, doesn't it?

I copied this from the other thread in case you didn't read it, because obviously some people misunderstood my point for someodd reason and I want to make sure they see this.

    Pip, KidRock...

Let me explain myself. I created that thread and others for two main reasons, each of which I think are very legitimate.

First, I and other Collier supporters have been called crazy, insane, nuts, stupid, intrenched in denial, and lots of adjectives similar to those for simply saying he had a chance to succeed in the NBA. Many of these were before he had played a single minute in even the NBA preseason or the RMR. There's a certain thing called the Golden Rule. Think about it. Don't dish out the criticism if you can't take it in return. I certainly think that after the summer long bashing I've heard toward Collier and then the things I've heard myself called that I am entitled to make a thread like I did.

Secondly, the most important reason. I don't think Collier for sure has arrived as a force yet. I don't think this means it will make him a big time threat at this point this season, because most likely with Hakeem back he'll see around 3-5 minutes per game. Is Collier getting 11/7 a good sign? Yes of course. But lots of players have gotten those numbers, and I know that's the feeling of a lot of people, including Clutch. After all, it was one game. But you guys were ready to write Collier's career off before you even saw him play once. (although I don't put much stock in the preseason and RMR, you were saying these things even BEFORE then too) I knew when I wrote that post that most of you Collier bashers would consider it unrealistic to say after one game. However, I had hoped that perhaps it would awaken you to what you had been doing, and that you cannot under any circumstances judge or know how a player will perform after a few games. It doesn't work that way. I don't want to start a war with KidRock or anyone else every game about Collier's performance. (and if you make a thread, I most likely will not respond FYI) My hope was that by showing you evidence from this last game you could realize how extremely stupid it is to think you know how a player's career will unfold after a few games. This isn't something I plan on doing after every game Collier does good. I just hoped that maybe I could open a few people's eyes to the real world, and that maybe people could finally withhold their judgment on Collier until you give him some time. (and a few games, etc. is NOT enough... try months) Guess I was wrong.

4chuckie-The CBA prevents rookie contract extensions from being signed until their 4th year. Don't worry about that. [IMG]

Smegger-Why is it that everyone always picks on the lefty?

(Why is it that Collier plays a good game the one game I don't watch?)

Collier should be solid.. if he works out with Hakeem, Kato, and Mo, there's definitely a potential for improvement.. he will be a good role player for the rockets

Excuse me for having a job where I have to sit at a computer for 12 hours at a time. I stay on CC.Net because I think it is the most entertaining site on the web. And for the past wek or so, I have had to endure your endless drivel concerning Collier's abilities. I have remained quiet all this time while Cat defended Collier for all of us Rocket fans who wish the best for everyone who wears the Rocket pj's. So when Collier has a game that gives us all a glimpse of what he may be able to bring to this team, Cat begins this thread to say "See, it's only one game, but there is some potential. Chill out and wait, and lay off the Collier sucks threads for awhile." But where are you when the shoe is on the other foot?...Let's see...

And you posted your typical "Collier sucks" post at 2:54 AM...That must have been some math test. Either you are lying, or, as I suspect, you were hiding.

Bring that crap in here only when you have a wife and three kids to support. My life is ten times more fulfilling than your is now (or will ever be). I spend my night shifts enjoying the Rockets, not berating them. Grow up some.

Trust me, absolutely no one on this board is awaiting your next post. Especially not me.

Man o man where have I been for this thread...

Hey Cat, you calling me out or what?

Let me say this. The sun shines on a dogs ass once in a while. Problem is that pretty uneyepopping performance isnt enough to break out with the sun glasses.

Why is it that you say "Dont give me any one game wonder" stuff. But it fits you just fine when you want to excuse his game.

Lets see 1 pretty ok game, 6 bad ones. It thats the rate youll be dropping these threads your in for a long season. And dont give me any of that he doesnt get any time stuff. If he played well enough in any of those other games, hed of gotten more time.

Rudy also thought that R Rhodes was worthy of a first round pick while being laughed at. And that Drew, Turkan, belonged ahead of Lewis. He also thought Thomas Hamilton, Washington, and that Venson dude could make the team. Rudy has made some bad choices (considering who was left) in some drafts. Hes not perfect, and I still think Collier was a huge mistake.

Collier is still slow. In the course of one game that hasnt changed

Collier still is a weak rebounder. Hanging around at the 3 point line wont improve that.

Collier still plays weak Defense. One game hasnt changed that.

His shooting percentage is still weak for a sharp shooter.

If all it takes is 11 points and 7 boards in the preseason to get hyped, then you go man.

    Collier rules!!!!!

    Dreamshake,

No I wasn't calling out you. From what I remember, you were at least objective. I was more less aiming at those "Collier sucks he got no game he'll be in the CBA we should call a press conference to apologize for the pick" kind of people. As for your one good game six bad ones, I don't buy it because this was the first time he finally got the minutes and opportunity to get involved in the offense. As for your claims of him being slow and weak at rebounding and defense, I don't agree but I know it's your opinion, and that isn't what irritates me. You aren't sitting here calling his career over and giving him no chance, etc. I just can't stand to hear crap about how much he sucks and that he has no career except in the CBA, and how we should e calling press conferences to apologize for the pick, etc. I don't agree with what you are saying, but at least you are somewhat objective.

Behad-Um, ok... So in addition to not being too bright in a basketball sense, you're also a flat-out liar...

"What a couple of cowards you two are. Cat was here for hours, calling you two out to debate Colliers game. But no, you two wait till Cat has left the board before y'all pull out stupid $hit like"

In your last post you said that no one would wait around for my post... If you read above that's CONTRADICTARY to what you said... You clearly state that The Cat "was here for hours" make up your damn mind you asinine fool...

    Insert foot in mouth...

Collier doesn't actually "hang around" the 3 pt line. He sets screens and rolls into the paint off half of them.

I'm not going to defend his D.

I think he's a shooter, NOT a sharpshooter! He'll make a decent amount of his shots, but he won't set the world alight in anticipation a la Matt Bullard when he gets the open look!

Is that the best you can do? What a stretch. This.....

...was an insult, not a lie. Good try though, I'll give you a B- for creative thinking.

I was just on the board around the same time I always am. I would have liked to have you respond, but that's not the only thing I was doing. On topic though- myself and Behad did want to hear what you had to say last night, because I and I'm sure other Rockets fans hoped you might realize that it's just logical to give him some time. But if you still aren't willing to acknowledge that, then no we don't want to hear your next post. I somehow doubt Behad is wanting to stick his foot up his mouth.

Behad-I could care less about your always switching opinions... I've proven to you that when it comes to common sense, you're lacking that department... There's no need to kick my head in because of this... It's not my fault that you make yourself sound like a dumbass... Violent threats over the computer is weak... But then again, that's why you do it... I don't understand you, nor care to anymore...
