Well actually... The NBA regular season/IST is BETTER than the NBA playoffs

It helps when the league has compelling - or ANY - basketball going on during its supposed most important period.

Instead we get a random week off after a week of snooze games in series that were decided 2 weekends ago.

Crazy idea - NBA basketball is best when there are teams playing basketball - eg, the regular season

This is where you're WRONG, Sam.

The NBA regular season is exactly as entertaining as the NBA playoffs.

I have to agree and have been feeling this way for a decade. The regular season feels more relaxed and enjoyable. The playoffs feels like you're on a deadline and you're going to get your ass chewed out if you miss it. I like competitive basketball but I don't like the intense level of frustration the playoffs bring. That's probably mostly cause we haven't won $hit since '95. It's just not fun anymore and there is really no hope of ever getting another championship anytime soon. Might as well just get the most out of the regular season.

It's not like interest is building. Just the opposite. People are even watching hockey, LOL.

I choose to blame the in-season "tournament" with the seizure-inducing courts, and I won't back off this opinion. :D

NBA fan poll shows 98% want Adam Silver to cancel the Finals and just have the draft already.

I am t laughing because Zac Lowe has to lead off every podcast now, which basketball wise, is basically just waiting for the Finals that was determined 2 weeks ago, with an increasingly emphatic declaration of "THIS is why we all do this!" as if he's trying to convince himself as much as he's trying to convince us.

    Here's his lead today:

THIS, TIM MCMAHON, THIS IS WHY WE DO THIS JOB

ALL THE TRADES, ALLTHE TRANSACTIONS ALL THE RUMORS ALL THE SMOKE SCREENS

THAT''S FUN THAT GETS CLICKS, THAT GETS LISTENS

BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE LARRY O'BRIEN TROPHY. THIS IS ABOUT THE NBA FINALS

    ...

THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT OF ALL OF IT

    https://www.espn.com/espnradio/podcast/archive/_/id/10528553

Seems increasingly desperate to convince me that the Playoffs/Finals are more important and entertaining than the regular season.

Doesn't seem like anybody is buying it - the cracks are showing. Also I fast forwarded through the first hour of his podcast today until all the boring FInals talk (which has been discussed to death already) was over and it went to Jonathan Givony and the draft.

    You lost Zach. You lost.

Update from last night's action, the signature period of the entire season, "what it's all about, the reason why we all do this" (h/t @Zachlowe)

    - No Games Scheduled -

How many fans would want Adam Silver to step down and announce Deputy Mark Tatum as Commissioner......that is interesting.....

How many fans would rather Adam Silver start a Smashing Pumpkins cover band that plays only at County Fairs, getting pelted with abandoned, locally-grown produce?

You have to give Silver credit for being able to con the tv execs to give them a billion five per season for this snoozefest.

This is definitely the NBA jumping the shark. Sucks for them but happy I was around to watch it happen.

Seriously. The only dramatic tension in the NBA Finals:
    (1) Will Luka foul out tonight?
    (2) Will Luka get a technical?
    (3) Will the Celtics, after dominating a clearly inferior team, fritter away a big lead before they obviously win anyway?

    Fannnn-tastic!
