There's a horse named Matt schaub?

Why would somebody do that? Hopefully he named it several years ago.

My moms from Louisville. My grandpa had a box at Churchill Downs for decades. I never bet on horses like them. But one thing I learned from them was how to study the horses. And with the Internet you can watch all their races on youtube.

Don't bet on race cards when you can now see them run

    This horse is special.

This is the first time I've ever bet on the Derby

    Cha ching

The key is when you are absolutely convinced a favorite will win. The way to cash in is place a huge bet on the win then place five exacta bets to score that too

    This horse is money

Another simple exacta bid. Bet Chrome to win and 5 others horses to place

He's no Smarty Jones, but he's good.

It's a shame we're left to wonder whether they'll even run California Chrome in the Belmont. I'd like to see a Triple Crown sometime in my lifetime, and this is the best chance of it since Smarty.

Why wouldn't they run him in the Belmont? I don't follow this stuff very closely, but your comment prompted me to skim the ESPN.com article for a reason and nothing was mentioned.

It's been a trend of late...we've seen injuries keep the horse from racing and we've seen owners decide they'd rather not run them.

Everything I've read this morning though suggests that they'll run him, and he'll get his shot at the Triple Crown. I'd love to see it happen.

The only time I've ever heard of a horse NOT running the belmont when they have a chance at the triple crown was due to injury or some other aliment the day of the race.

If California Chrome is healthy he'll run the belmont.

Smarty Jones holds the record for largest margin of victory ever in the Preakness. 11 1/2 lengths. But do you know California Chrome beat his time by a second. Cali also beat smartys derby by a second.

I know times are not a great measure of Best, because many horses only run to what the competition demands. That said. Smarty Jones was racing against one of the weakest fields ever

    Chrome is better imo

This horse never gets in trouble. I've seen all his races, thx to youtube. He owns the race track. Fastest out of the gate. Goes wherever he wants. Whenever he wants. Social inception made him break early. And he just goes Fine. We'll do it your way and I still destroy you

I get what you are saying heypee, but if there was any horse that I was sure they were going to win the triple crown it was Charismatic.

Even Big Brown (though his race was sidetracked do to injury).

This **** doesn't ever pan out, so I'll see it when I see it. If he wins the thriple crown it will be amazing, but I ain't holding my breath about it.

Yeah, I'm not betting five exactas in the Belmont for California Chrome to win. It's just too hard of a race. But I will say with confidence that none of the Preakness field will win the Belmont. If Chrome gets beat, it will be by Wicked Strong or Commanding Curve.

imo, Wicked is the second best 3-yr old this year, but got screwed by his post position in the Derby -- 19th. No one wins from there. Commanding Curve showed quite a kick, coming from last to Place in the Derby. He might be able to chase down Cali. I don't know much about him. Will have to watch some Commanding Curve videos.

    Danza will be rested, too.
