This is the first I've heard of him being a cancer, or anything bad really. I thought he was a fine addition to the team. Shame to see I'm the only sane person here.

It was clear that the Rockets wanted to move him...and were willing to get rid of a player on a league min deal...NOW that he is returning back to the team that just traded him...Why would he want to play at all for the Rockets? No one would/should blame him for feeling that way either. He totally has the right to ask the Rockets mgmt to release him. Just dont know what kind of damage that does for the Rockets in terms of the luxury tax.

Man...Im sure that Bima prepared a huge article on the trade deadline...only to have to change the entire thing yet again...:(

Thornton said will not have trouble playing for Rockets. "I do what I do. I just need the opportunity. I've been saying that from Day 1."

Thornton said happy to be back with his teammates. "That's the positive, that and the fans. The have have been great. That lifts my spirit."

Fits the team's offense more than any other player not starting.

This team has had lack of direction and leadership issues for a while but kept winning the last couple of years because Harden was carrying them. After Harden came into the year with his head up his ass and the **** hit the fan this year, "chemistry issues" started. With stronger coaching, leadership and a since of direction, I feel Thornton could have been incorporated better into the team but it's just been a snowball effect and JB felt compelled to play Terry more to be a stabilizing influence out there. Thornton just got lost in the shuffle and hasn't really fit in this year.

We have a much worse version of Marcus Thornton already in Corey Brewer that we already pay 3 times as much as Marcus Thornton.

-Brewer's defense is equally as subpar as Marcus Thornton, even with guaranteed rotation minutes.

-Offense? You think MT is streaky? Brewer is consistent with his suck shooting even with guaranteed 22 minutes every night. Consistency is key guys. That way there is no surprises in what you can expect out of your rotation is tight. That's suckage you can depend on. Hang a coat on it.

-Weird balding pattern? Again, advantage Corey Brewer. We already got that guy.

-Turnovers? Corey Brewer by far! He has that category on lock down. Like Lin-esque ridiculous TOs usually caused by a runaway train ill-advised fast break.

-Plus a major problem in terms of fit is Marcus Thornton actually goes out there and balls with heart. Like he actually gets angry like he hates losing. Not a good fit for Rockets this year. You'll never have to worry about Brewer being surrounded by a whole bunch of opponent's jerseys while the 4 other rockets give up on a play. Brewer is perfect for that game with Harden called "you got him. No, you got him. No you--ahh damn uncovered fast break lay up."

    I don't know if he's a cancer or anything...

I just don't think his streaky shooting is worth the defensive mistakes he makes.

Your post is kind of hot garbage but whatever; the truth of the matter is effectively neither Brewer nor Thornton is great - a defensive specialist having a bad season on a crap defensive team and an offensive specialist who sucks at shooting this year.

The problem is, Brewer isn't moveable, and Thornton was, which is why he was gone - but at least he is buy-out-able.

Really don't get the hate for MT, I just don't. But good luck to all you fans who want to see several players every game having 0 points off the bench.

They shouldn't even let this man back in the building as far as I'm concerned.

    Speculation:

    1) Remember when the players were saying "It's not the same team!" a few months ago. I think they were referring to Smith going to LAC and to Thornton. He's the only real addition from last year's team. I think there's a reason he keeps getting traded and is on a minimum contract. Some people talked about Ariza possibly being mad at Thornton for not rotating on D. The idea from some people is that he's playing for stats for his next contract and ignoring called plays.

    2) He's already popped off about the Rockets after getting traded. That's not a good thing to do when your a bench playing veteran whose been on how many teams? 6? 7?
