For parts of the last 24 hours, I think maybe I did, too. FWIW, he has an expiring contract of $8-9 million...
Did he really say that? Can't believe we got Kenny Thomas back. Stevie Franchise is rolling in his grave.
Tru dat Rocket River. I fondly remember K9 playing inspired ball for Houston. Right before contract time came around, we shipped him off and hitched our wagon to Mo freaking loser Taylor. KT was upset ("f*** Houston"), because he loved playing for the Rockets and was convinced he'd get a well deserved pay increase. Well, he got an absurd amount from Philly? and has been over-payed ever since. None-the-less, he plays tough defense, and has a nice post-game despite his size. I, for one, am happy to have Kenny back, even if it's just for the rest of the year. Welcome back Kenny!!!!!!!!!!!
I think we hitched our wagon to Griffin and were stuck with Taylor because of his contract, which meant Thomas was the one that had to go. I always liked Thomas though, hopefully he's still got something left in the tank for us.
I say as this season ends, as a online Houston family we fly to sacramento and take Carl Landry back.
About Kenny Thomas, I don't recall him being a Landry type. He was more of a Chuck Hayes type. I was sorry to see him go at the time. Don't think he would bring much to the table now though.
No need to buy him out, he's an expiring contract... it's not like having another PF behing Hayes and Scola is going to hurt..... esp now that Landry's gone.
He can be a solid backup if he plays defense and rebounds, kind of like a poor man's chuck hayes but with better offense.
No, I think he's pretty much the ghost of Landry future. Like Landry, he was an undersized power forward that worked hard and surpassed expectations, even overcoming health concerns (it was weight for him, knee for Landry). He was an efficient scoring backup who hustled. He always got the short end from the Rockets and was finally traded away because the Rox had some other PF. Kenny then (like Landry soon will) got his payday from some other team, plateaued and became a salary cap albatross. Kenny Thomas might be a good cautionary tale of what might have been if the Rockets had kept Landry.
Kenny thomas is out new york got involved like they said they would same deal with new york except we get k mart instead of hughes
