    $8.3 million this year and the rockets will have a team option every July for last 3 years.

    I called it. They will handcuff each other to chairs and rip up Offer sheet and sign new so Utah doesn't jump in.

    This part is amazing.
    Not that the Rockets pushed for it, but that it just all happened this way.

    He's now, what, an $8.3 million trade chip to move to someone who needs cap space.

    Either the Rockets need cap space, and don't pick up year 2 guarantee, or the Rockets don't land a big fish but help some other team get cap space by trading DMo before the guarantee date.

    It's beautiful!

    He would probably easily consent when the other option would be to get waived with that team option looming over his head every year
