Wow! That's horrible! They told me that if I start to bleed to gargle ice cold water. It doesn't sound like that would have worked for you. I read somewhere that about 3% of adults that have this surgery end up bleeding like that. Hopefully I'll fall into the majority. I definitely won't drive myself though. I'll have my wife get me.

Ditto for me, but I've never had any tonsil issues that I'm aware of. I always thought it was food that had gotten stuck in my throat. I've never noticed them lodged in my mouth, but I've coughed them up in the past. Yuck.
