so I just got a phone call from a blocked number the only reason why I picked up is that my roommate has an ANNOYING habit of calling me from his work from a blocked number and I get some lady which sounds like she was working in some sort of call center trying to talk to me in chinese. she was already talking when i picked up my phone and then said nihao and then hung up. anyone know if this one of those new phone scam things or if it was just a wrong number case?

Yeah, it's a phone scam when you talk English and she talks Chinese. They are w/o a doubt scamming you.
I got three calls from a 314 area code (Missouri) over the weekend. The first one was at 3am Friday, and I only answered it because my wife's parents live in Missouri and thought that maybe there had been an accident or something. I answered sleepily, and I got a "Oh, sorry, wrong number, dude." Then the next night around 9pm, I got two calls back to back from the same area code but from two different numbers than the first call, which I didn't answer because the wife and I were at the movies. I haven't gotten any others since then, though...
Huh...so I just Googled the numbers that called me, the last call came from a number belonging to a doctor's office in St Louis. The middle call was from a Suburb of St Louis, and the first call Google couldn't find any info on the number. Curious...
They probably are tracking the fact that you are downloading games to your X-Box without paying for them.
"This is your SECOND warning that your automobile warranty will expire... blah blah" But it's really the 2309817482374th warning...
I had an annoying phone scam I think I posted a thread about a while ago. I ended up cussing the guy out so bad after he made a brutal mistake of trying to scam me again on the 6th day after Ike when I still didn't have power. I gave a him a verbal beatdown he will likely not forget any time soon. I also mentioned to him I knew he was in that ****ty little warehouse in Santa Monica (I had googled the number previously) and I could run up in there and beat the **** out of him easily. Needless to say, they never called me again.
So you do admit to stealing video games and because other people do it, that makes it O.K.? Stealing is stealing regardless of how you want to justify it.
