Whats interesting is Lil Wayne gets respect from others in the rap industry, like Common and Andre 3000. He's one of your favorite rapper's favorite rapper. Because they like his freedom, lack of formulaic boundaries and he'll rap about ANYTHING he's thinking about without giving a damn.

His style and verses might come across as poo but he opens it up and keeps things loose, and I suppose others in the rap industry appreciate that.

Lupe is my favorite rapper out there right now. The guy is underrated. People don't even give him a chance and think he just raps about skateboards. IMO he's the best rapper/lyricist. I can't stop listening to his albums. I fell in love with Food & Liquor and it's a shame the next one is going to be his last album.

It's obvious you don't like Lil' Wayne and I would never call him the greatest rapper alive or anything, but your blanket statement about his lyrics is not true. Just listen to I Miss My Dawgz, Sweetest Girl, Lil' Girl Gone, and Georgia Bush. Whether you think these songs are good or not, the lyrics do have substance. He's definitely one of the hottest artists in any genre around right now. Tha Carter III is alright. I'm sure it'll go platinum.

I agree. Lupe is my favorite rapper and one of the few that can call themselves that.

Lil Wayne is getting annoying...I used to love this dude but his stuff has become old and his lyrics aren't making sense...at least his old songs had some substance, but now it sucks...stays on the same thing, he's run out of stuff to rap about...

Actually, I was a fan of Lil Wayne back in his Cash Money days. I Miss My Dawgz is probably my favorite Wayne track. But Wayne had a different swag then, than he does now. Sweetest Girl and Lil Girl Gone were just one verse and not even his tracks. I still say the majority of his tracks have no substance.

Mr. Carter and Let the Beat Build are the only songs I can tolerate from The Carter III. Even with those, he says some lines that somewhat ruin a good track. Jay shined on Mr. Carter and Wayne had some alright lines and then he'll kill it by saying, "I'm flier than beatlejuice beatlejuice." Umm ok. Sure Wayne is one of the hottest artist right now but what is that really saying? I could name 5 artist that are better and not near as hot as Wayne.

Also, after all the crap he said about "I Created the mixtape game" and "F*** mixtapes and mixtape DJs", I've lost all respect for him. The reason Wayne is so hot right now is because of those mixtapes. So now hes all commercial and thinks hes above the mixtape game.

The Carter III sell over 1 Million Copies In Its First Week

    http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003817568

With "Tha Carter III," Lil Wayne becomes the first artist since 50 Cent in 2005 to sell more than 1 million copies of an album in a single week, according to chart reports that will be issued tomorrow morning (June 18) by Nielsen SoundScan.

In its first week on the market, "Tha Carter III" (Cash Money/Universal) sells just over 1 million units. The last album to top that milestone was 50 Cent's "The Massacre" in March 2005.

No album in 2006 sold as many as 800,000 copies in a single frame, and the largest sales week since "The Massacre" belonged to Kanye West's "Graduation," which netted an opener of 957,000 copies last year when it hit stores on Sept. 11.

Lil Wayne first appeared on The Billboard 200 in 1999. His previous biggest sales week was a 238,000-unit start for "Tha Carter II" in 2005. That set entered The Billboard 200 at No. 2 while becoming his fourth No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Lil Wayne is the last person I'd ever pay to listen to. That figure above is hilarious. Maybe Dwayne will have enough money to snort his cocaine to death and finish the inevitable this time.
