Cam'ron and his pink gear and his double-rhyming nonsense.

    Worst.

    Rapper.

    Ever.

Seriously, I think Master P had some better flows than that asspidgeon

i agree. Atleast you could feel Master P and his struggle on the ice cream man, Cam has always been arogant....for what reason, i have no idea.

I know a lot of people like him, I just don't get it. His vooice is not that good. I guess his beats are good, but Kanye did them right? So what does he bring? A skateboarding attitude?

I respectfully disagree with that statement. Some artists are just a level or two above the mainstream public intellect. I didn't fully understand alot of the Wu when I first heard them, but after I researched alot of what I was confused with, it made the music so much better.

Kinda like watching the Sopranos if you never watched "The Godfather", "Goodfellas", "Donnie Brasco", and don't know who Meyer Lanksy was. Also, you have to have an understanding of the Italian historical aspect of the show.

I remember talking about "The Wire" with this female(white, from Sugarland BTW) and she was like... "it's gay, no way black drug dealers are that smart, cops don't do the those types of things, and politically, things like that don't occur etc etc...

    If only she knew...

But yeah... OBFCL and Supreme Clientele all day for me!!

I used to own this album, loved it, he's saying nothing. that stuff isn't deep, nas is deep. gza is deep, rza is even deep, chef and starks are not. trust me. I've seen many a break down of their lyrics, some of the stuff maybe over the head as far as not knowing what they're referencing but its not deep. trust me

Geez.. way too many critics in here. Overall, I liked the album (7.5 / 10). I do agree about the "hit or miss" on his tracks... there were a couple terrible ones ("We are not the same, I am a martian!") but "Mr. Carter", "Dr. Carter", "Tie my Hands" ft. Robin Thicke, "Mrs. Officer" are all quality tracks (on top of the singles - "A Milli", "Lollipop", and "Got Money"). All the others are mediocre...

Not a GREAT album, but good. I still like "Carter II" better...

    Cam'ron, and Juelz Santana together......

I think Timon and Pumba could get in the studio and make as much interesting verses as those guys

I'm gonna get flamed for this, but Wayne is the most overrated rapper of all time..

maybe it's just me, but I don't find the little "sleepy and on crack" voice of his appealing at all .. Lyrics are mediocre, and mediocre might even be too much to describe em. no substance in the songs, beats not that great.. I don't know, the only Wayne song that I really liked was lollipop, and that was mainly because it was shoved down my throat by 97.9 and 93.3 playin it every other song.. and no, I'm not a mainstream fan, I actually listened to the Carter II in its entirety and I didn't like a single song..

by the way, I like lollipop because of the lines at the beginning of the rhyme.. they're completely meaningless and even even r****ded, but they sound good.. like "lil mama had a swag like maaa (mine), she even wore her hair down 'er back like maa "(mine) .. and then "I aint never seen an a$$ like hers".. and finally "shawty said ***** that she wit aint $h!%" .. they flow great, but the hook/chorus is actually annoying, and the lyrics are downright ridiculous/disgusting..

gotta admit though, Kanye is really makin a case for himself.. I never liked him, "gold-digger" was a joke of a song and I hate the fact that it was so overhyped. but Stronger/Can't tell me nothin are amazing, and his lines in lollipop remix are absolutely sick, despite the meaninglessness (is that a word) of them.. He has this great ability of making meaningless lyrics sound good:

"Imma rap like I got some type respect for myself
I dont do it for my health man
I do it for the belt
Man I do it to the death
    Til the roof get melt
100 degrees, drop the roof so the coupe dont melt
Man the flow so cold Chicken Soup won't help"

no one, and I mean NO ONE, will ever reach Pac .. Biggy was great but IMO not even close the Pac... Juicy is a great meaningful song "birthdays was the worst daaays", but that's about the only "deep" non-materialistic song, while on the other hand, almost every single Pac song (with the exception of maybe 2 of amerika's most wanted and Cali Love) were full of meaning and had a message that's way more meaningful than hos and cars and rims and alcohol and illegal drugs..

I used to have the same attitude about Lupe until I tried to actually listen to his songs more than once.. maybe pull the lyrics as well.. The guy is a great lyricist, and I mean great, IMO him and Nas are the closest to Pac lyrics-wise, but still, they're light years behind his greatness..

Lupe talks about life waaay more than he does about drugs/sekz/alcohol/rims/cars ..

I don't even like rap music all that much these days, but this album is outstanding. One of the best releases this year over any genre, imo. The beats are great on this album. It seems like W is appealing to a broader audience this time.

Wayne is easily the most overrated rapper of all time. He doesn't rap about anything with substance. Sure he may say a couple good punchlines every now and then but its nothing special. There is more to a song and an album than just punchlines. Good beats but I felt he ruined a lot of them. He says the most absurd stuff that don't even go with the song. Just out of nowhere he'll randomly talk about rims and cars.

If you thought his album was outstanding, you really need to listen to more rap. To each his own I guess.
