The cognitive dissonance that Marine has when he believes "defending the flag" is more praiseworthy than defending the first amendment.

How does burning the flag protest cops?

They got a lesson is unintended consequences and learned how much privilege they have.

They were an Anarchist group....Anarchists are like the 5 year old children of the political spectrum. You never really should expect what they do to make sense or be intelligent.

No one has the privilege to use physical force on another unless to invoke self defense of one's self or others.

Mr. Cutch, you are consistent with your logic correct? Did you blame Pamela Gheller or the culprits who felt offended enough to use physical violence?

Oh, but since you have a affinity for the object being protested that logic doesn't apply anymore?

In this instance, the bikers were idiots and the protesters were idiots. However, out of the two groups the bikers infringed on another's rights.

Well I agree the bikers were idiots and the flag burners were ignorant.

Same exact position I had with the Pamela Geller incident.

But no one tried to murder anyone in this instance, so there is a huge degree of difference there.

It's too bad in Greece they actually got elected.

We're seeing what happens when you give these people any sort of real power.

Yeah....Greeks might have "invented" Democracy, but they've also shown multiple times how and why it can utterly fail.

The police should defend this group. This group aren't more weenie-ish for using the police to defend them.

The biggest a-holes in this scenario are those that couldn't take a little demonstration and had to attack the demonstrators.

If this group were anarchists that don't believe in any need for police then this shows their idiocy. But being an idiot is less offensive than using violence against someone simply because you disagree with what they are doing.

Glad they got a break from stabbing dudes at free concerts, beating gonzo journalists half to death, gang raping runaways or trading oxy. Way to stake out the high ground, OP.

Greece was/is being intentionally destroyed by Europe to save their own banks from greed. Everyone (except the European powers) is finally coming around on the idea that austerity was a terrible choice and sent Greece into a death spiral. Their current government is not wrong - the only way they will ever get healthy is to get out of this cycle. But there is no short-term solution, and that's what people seem to expect. Either Europe needs to cave or Greece needs to default - the path they've been on the last 4 years has been a total trainwreck.

So it's ok to commit a crime and deny people their first amendment rights when you don't like their cause?

I find it disturbing that many of the "conservatives" here think it's ok for the bikers to "rough-up" another group who is obeying the law.

Just goes to show what hypocrites yall are. First amendment and freedom is only for people "like us".

Scary and sad. The people who were in the wrong was the biker "gang" - they are the one terrorizing a peaceful protest.

The point of this thread had nothing to with the bikers, the point of this thread was about the hypocrisy of leftist groups who whine about the cops and then hide behind them when they need them. Who is the real hypocrite?

They pay the cops' salaries, overtime and pensions, and complain about specific rights violations that often rise to the level of assault or criminality. I'm not sure in what world that abrogates their right to protection from violent attacks by known criminal organizations.

I thought Anarchist group is more of a extreme right group? Or maybe libertianism to the extreme? They want no government, no system. Wild west to the extreme. That's hardly left.

And it's just a flag. Who care. Some people have too much pride in symbolism and as many pointed out, while never-minding free speech.

You have bikers in the title of the thread. How does it have nothing to do with the gang that broke the law and violated the free speech of others.

So you are saying that hypocrisy of protesters justifies using violence to shut them up?

Then based on that someone should be roughing you up for being such a hypocrite about throwing our sacred freedoms under the bus.
