No. A touchdown on the first drive ends it. It didn't have to be the first play... just worked out that way.
Your idea of overtime sounds like regulation. And guess what it, it wasn't simple. Because teams don't always end with more points. So then what do you do? LOL I think these new rules are perfect. Each team has regulation to win. If they don't, they go into overtime you don't get screwed by playing good defense and holding the other team to a field goal.
Steelers have looked like crap ever since Big Ben got injured. And then Clark and Mendinhall were out. Big credit to Denver's defense. And Tebow was pretty clutch.
I have no problems with Tebow i like the guy so calm down lol. My problem is with ESPN and the non stop coverage that will insue. We might as well forget coverage of any other playoff team at this point.
if the steelers defense has any honor, they will all commit ritualistic suicide for giving up 300 passing yards to tim tebow. dude was 6/22 the week before.
You didn't listen to the rules when the ref explained them? Each team gets the ball with two exceptions: 1) A defensive touchdown ends the game 2) The team that receives the ball scores a touchdown, game ends The new rules were implemented to keep teams from getting the ball and winning the game on a field goal.
Well, that was a craptacular way to introduce the new OT rules. So much for any chance the Texans host the AFC title game
I thought it worked out pretty well... they could have always made the rules like college and allowed both teams to have the ball no matter what, but they stuck to their guns and ensured that a first drive TD still ends it... helluva dramatic shift there. The Texans can still host the AFC title game if they win and the Broncos win. Both teams are going to be at least a TD underdog, so if you really believe in the Texans, you might as well believe in the Broncos as well.
Anyone see Tebow look up to see if the cameras were on him when he went into the "Victory Tebow Formation"?
I saw it. I think he looked up because a reporter dropped to his knees directly next to him and he opened his eye a little to see what it was.
