I can't lie that ball comes out slow, wobbly, and downright ugly. We may be able to win with Fitzpatrick, but whatever the ceiling of our entire team is, it's going to be improperly depressed by having Fitzpatrick under center for us.

If the Texans can get through the Raiders and Giants games with one win and one loss with Fitzpatrick, they could then play Mallett, who would have had enough time to adjust.

Brooks looked like a pro bowler today. If he can play like that consistently, Texans would be a top defense.

I just don't get why people were apparently mad at them going conservative in the 4th.

Do you want Fitzpatrick, the guy who had 11 of this 12 interceptions last year coming in the 4th quarter, to play not conservatively?

If you actually think Fitzpatrick looked good, then you don't know football, sorry.

He isn't great nor is he terrible. He's the quarterback that is holding the reigns until they get an actual long-term qb.

im not in love with Fitz, however I am pleased. if he manages the game and plays like that every week, we are a playoff team. The Redskins aren't a cupcake team.

Do you realize you're the only one in this thread that says he looked awful? Show me the last time a QB had a 9.4 ypa, 109 rating, no turnovers...and looked awful.

He's an average QB and as long as he manages the games properly, we can win a decent amount of them.

He did his job today and he earned his money.

    .

You're spot on with the defense & special teams and when was the last time you could say that about the Texans special teams. But really! In Fitz's 1st game as a Texan, he's "awful as usual"! I'll give you that he's still getting acquainted with the team. But in the 2nd half, with the game on the line, he controlled the game.

Also after reading the rest of your posts, you seem to be trying to become the FTWRocketsFTW of the Texans.

Fitzpatrick is...in the words of Dennis Green "He is who we thought he was!"

A game manager who works well with a good running attack and defense...

    i.e. The Houston Texans.

    Sheez, you're annoying.

Your pro-Keenum bias is blinding you and dominating your thoughts. Was Fitzpatrick amazing? No, of course not, but no one expected him to be. He made smart decisions, protected the ball and even made a few big plays. That's all we could have asked for.

I concur with whoever said that the way you're rooting for this team isn't even enjoyable. Maybe Keenum will luck his way into a start in St. Louis for ya.
