It was a pretty ugly game overall. Loved the win, but the constant whistles made the game sorta meh. I'm jinxing OSU, but they should end up undefeated heading into conference play. I'm not sure how good our offense is without Pettigrew.
Iowa fell out of the top 25 after a win. Granted, they barely beat UNI (who is a really good FCS team, ranked #4), but how often does that happen? Also, UH got a vote in the AP poll.
The plus side of that is that we played TOUGH even when our offense was sputtering. Good thing Dez is a beast huh! (Crabtree who?) Its good to see the defense finally play up to its potential though because defensively we have recruited very well , better than the majority of the Big 12 other than Texas and OU. Btw, I'm surprised there hasn't been a separate thread made for the upcoming OSU vs Housotn game considering this is a Houston -dominated board lol !
Missouri has the talent to win the Big 12 North IMHO. Blaine Gabbert already seems like a more talented prospected than Chase Daniel.
Well I grew up rooting for UT, so my alma mater beating Oklahoma and Texas being at #2 is about as sweet as it gets.
Hopefully all three MWC teams can go undefeated until they meet each other. Can't wait to see how the MWC plays out.
I thought USC wouldn't survive that one, but after watching Ohio State almost lost to Navy and Matt Barkley doing pretty well against somescrubs, I'm not so sure anymore. Oh well, back to wearing burnt orange
Repped, sir. A lot of people don't realize that, beginning with the game against you guys last year, Chase was mediocre. He's a legend for what he did over his career, but down the stretch, he tried to do far too much, made too many mistakes, and teams exploited his lack of a true elite arm by taking away the intermediate game. I don't view Gabbert as a dropoff at all, and if he develops quickly, it could be an upgrade - even this year. He's a stud. imo, Mizzou should be the North favorite until proven otherwise.
They have a shot, but they better win out convincingly and hope there aren't two undefeated teams from big conferences.
And they said it couldn't happen again... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_NCAA_Division_I-A_football_season Seriously though, it's very, very early. Still a lot of season to be played, so you can't really make much of one week. I mean, at this point we don't even know if Oklahoma is as good as people think they are. But you can't argue with that start.
