I started watching Weeds on Saturday (I'm on season 2 right now) and it's been awesome. Though Nancy's been a bit too much Dr. Grey for my taste (i.e. clueless to the bone) but the acting on there is outstanding. I'm kinda sad to read TSchmal saying it's jumped the shark already
i find it funny that I posted in a three year old thread providing links to a show I've never seen... having said that... I just got season 1 on DVD and am halfway through. i like the slow pace and the character development...
thats what i liked too. just finished it last night. downloading season 2 right now. if it's worth buyin, i'll buy it
i'll agree with mateo on this one. the end of season 5 left it pretty open, and can take a several turns to keep the show interesting.
Romany Malco is a Houston area product, for those that didnt know. He lived in Baytown, went to the same high school I did. My mom knew his family. Some regional similarities with Malco and me. He was born in Brooklyn NY, so was I. He lived in the same Texas city as I did. He currently lives in Redondo Beach, CA now according to wikipedia. And I currently live a couple cities from Redondo Beach.
Season 5 comes out on DVD this Tuesday. So what's the consensus, should I stop watching the show entirely or should I give season 5 a shot?
I stopped watching it a while ago, the show started getting too 'out' there for me; just like Nip/Tuck.
The last season was better then the two preceding it, but still not as good as the first two seasons.
My 2 cents up through season 4... Spoiler This show went downhill big time once the fire burned the neighborhood down. Nancy's range these days is either vapid or horny. Now she hooks up with mexican drug kingpins, etc, etc... Pretty lame- I liked it much better when it was about a suburbanite housewife selling dope.
First three season's were good cause they were unique, but the last three have been so so. Nancy is becoming like toney.
Ive watched the first 3 seasons, started the fourth but got busy and forgot about it. Though reading this thread apparently fourth and fifth season suck. Ideas going on in them sounded kinda interesting but I dunno. Fourth is on the netflix streaming though so if I get bored I might watch a few more episodes of the fourth season just to give it another chance. First two seasons were brilliant though (third not quite as but it was ok) Anything to hold me over until the start of the new Dexter season....
