It is just a different way of showing the odds, why not everybody use decimal I will never know since it is so easy. I'm not very comfortable with the american way of giving odds (this style is called american) but I think that it means that you will have to put down 110 on the Orioles to win 100 and that you win 110 if you put down 100 on the red sox. But I may be wrong. I'm really only comfortable with decimal odds. The UK again uses yet another way to show the odds, by giving out fractions like 5/9 etc. But why not everybody use decimal I will never know.
Thank you Grizzlies. Thank you Raptors. This should be enough for another winning night no matter what any of the other results are. (The power of parlays)
I've been meaning to ask you how much each of your units are? And, I'll be checking for the contest in the fantasy forum. We need to recruit some more guys though since it won't be much of a competition with only 3 of us.
Well I posted unit to show that I put on each bet in comparison to each other. The size of the "1" unit usually differ for me. When I have been doing good I increase the standard bet to waste all my winnings - aint that fun. But tonight 1 unit was roughly $15. So it is not as it will make or ruin my life no matter the outcome. Today was a good day then, well only ok if I add in a bet I didnt post here that was a loss. But if we still talking units I bet about 5.5 units total today and got back 12 units. The first thread you had I only put down 1 unit and got back 1.9 units. Yesterday I put down about 2.5 units and got back 7 units. It is nice to be on a streak but I'm not getting rich.
Also I will start up a thread in the fantasy forum tomorrow. There will probably be a good deal joining since it is only for play money, so we will probably have aroudn a dozen players I think. Since no one said anything I think I will give everyone 1000 "credits" and with these settings: Start Credits: 1000 Game Ends: January 31st Available bets: Any Sporting Event you can find at any bookie. I would prefer that there is only short term bets, but if anyone wants to put in for a winner of an event I guess we can as accept that as long as it is decided before the game ends of course. Bet on an event: Up to 15 minutes to the scheduled start. (Bookies use 5 minutes so this give others a chance to check your bet, or even take your advice and spend money on it IRL if they want to) To put down a fantasy bet: State your pick, what you pick them to do (win outright, cover spread, over/under etc) and the odds given for the pick. You can combine bets if you like to in any fashion you please but if you combine two or more bets the bets has to come from the same bookie. Then remember to state how many credits you put on the bet and give a link to the bookie you've used. Also in the thread I will post NBA spreads from one of my bookies so players that can use those if they dont want to go to an online bookie of their own to find something to bet on. I will only post those as most will probably be betting on NBA games, but any sporting event is available to be bet on. Is this ok? There is still time to change things if we want to do that.
