Matt Jackson on 610am made a great point yesterday.

The Rockets annual Tux & Tennies gala is tonight, and there are a lot of high rollers that pay thousands of dollars to rub elbows with or even sit at a table with certain players. Making any deals that ship a popular player (Carl, Ron, Shane) out of town before tonight could be potentially bad PR. Not to mention, the Rockets want their focus on the fundraiser as much as possible. Announcing a trade yesterday or today would not achieve that goal.

So if something happens, it seems it would almost have to be tomorrow.

Landry and Head will be traded for an athletic big with more size and a first round pick (which Morey will try to package in the offseason for a more significant player).

That's my guess. No big splash, and a lot of us will probably be disappointed.

10pg? Why would i want someone who avg. 10 ppg. Wafer avreges that.
We need some one know can penetrate not anymore outside shooters. We've had shooters now we need someone who can get in the paint and get to the line.

With the recent developments, Rockets probably will not make a big deal tommorow.

    Update fromt the guy, Sug

I emailed my friend to confirm the 3pm is EST, he said yes.
On top of that the Blazers are also looking to block a move by Houston with a non-playoff Western conference team. They don't want Houston solving the T-Mac situation.

You can never trust articles like that but if it were true it would be a pretty b****y move by a team that sent threatening notes to all the other teams a month ago to not do anything to compromise their cap position.

Screw Portland- I'm still mad about them snagging Brandon Roy right before Houston was going to trade up to get him.

I believe the trade value is high for these players:

    Artest (Star player, no brainer)
Wafer (Strong and explosive bench/sixth man)
Landry (Nice player to come off the bench)
AB (Young talent, nice bench player)

Players that won't leave Houston... ever:

    T-mac (Obviously...)
    Yao Ming (Untouchable)

    Players with low/crappy trade value:

    Rafer (Ugh...)
    Head (Double ugh....)
    Deke (He's 43!!!!!!)
