The quality was great. The "design" phase wasn't that big of a deal. You just need to get your wording down. You also need to decide if you want to throw in a couple of graphics (e.g. we did a picture from my parent's wedding and a current picture for their 50th). Everything else depends on the speed and dependability of your printer. We'd print out about 10 at a time. Sometimes the heavier paper stock will cause two sheets to be fed at once. By being careful, we only had a few "wayward" invitations. I'll see if I can dig up the web site we used to order the stock.
Friend of my fiancee had a wedding like that. Horse drawn carriage, all the bells and whistles. Parents were taking out loans. Insane. I am now engaged and to be married in July. We are trying to get everything together, so this thread has been real helpful. I am kind of curious about DJs as well. The best price we could find around here was for a nice guy who is a little older; I'm kinda worried about what he will play through the night, as we will have a very diverse crowd. Of course, he'll play whatever we ask, but still. I wanted something quick and simple for a wedding and so did she. But once she started doing some planning it kind of grew from there. Luckily nothing crazy and she's still very sensible about it, but I see how it can get out of hand quickly.
You know a really good place to check out that has TONS of info and helped put our minds at ease is theknot it's totally free to sign up and they have everything you need as far as planning. Well my friend plays primarily hip hop/r&b...but as you said, we're gonna have a diverse crowd..I want some rock and my side is definitely gonna want country; but he's said he'll play whatever we want. This is more a side thing for him now; but he used to play clubs. I think he'd just be stoked to have some more chances to dj, cause he misses it; so if you're interested lemme know.
