It's not illegal but as you said, in "high school" you would have done it. But he's a Professional, act like one. Have some integrity.

I've seen him do that before a few times. He's really doing it just to clown around more than anything.

I would just let it go. It's not like he rung us up for 30 and that crazy shot at the end of regulation by spying to get our "secret game plan"

Webber was crafty. What can you say. I will say this, If I was other teams in the league and saw that I would make sure my lower level assistant coaches be "on the watch out" for players trying to eavesdrop in future situations. That is the TEAMS fault for not paying attention.

Luckily the game was pretty much decided during that time so it didnt matter.

If it was reversed and T-mac was listening in on the other team without violating any rules I would give the man a high=five... smart, take no prisoners player doing everything he can possibly do to win the game.

But this obviously wasn't that stituation and as a result I can only shake my head sadly and say:

    "that was WRONG motha-****a!"

Oh, please. Here's a guy whose most famous moment in basketball is doing something incredibly dumb involving a timeout. Now he does something very smart (though underhanded) involving a timeout, and we bash him for it. You can't have it both ways. Dumb is bad, smart is good. In this case, he was smart, and we were dumb not to notice.

Exactly. You can B$TCH and complain about Webber, but the truth is not a single person for the Rockets recognized or did anything about it.

Will-what famous moment did Webber do during a timeout?

He's been known to do it a lot during his career. Sometimes it's for laughs, but he does it a lot especially when the camera is on him.

He tried to call a timeout when his team didn't have one in the NCAA Championship game.

People were really hard on him for doing that, but what they don't understand is that he was high when he did it. Give him a break.

It looked to me like Webber was upset with someone, he kept pointing at someone in the stands or on the bench - the TV camera would not show where he was looking. But this was just prior to the last shot he made to tie the game in regulation. I thought to myself, oh great, some one has made him mad, look out hes going to score and tie this game and he did. Then when he won the game in OT he again pointed to somebody.

Can anyone who went to the game tell me what was going on?
