While I agree that border security is certainly an issue in regards to drugs and security issues, as long as there is demand, there will be drugs.
Those are in our country. We have the means to deal with domestic crime. Granted, there is no way to completely stamp out any sort of crime, but it can be limited and controlled to an extent. We have no jurisdiction in Mexico. We claim we want to control drugs coming into the country, but the border is taboo in the political realm. Should we simply ignore the border, since there are drugs produced here too? I say, NO.
