One of our major labs in Irving was closed today because of the weather. From the latest report we received, it's -2 degrees outside and very icyy.

We have this nice little wind tunnel through the front of our office building. Whatever speed the wind is listed at, multiply it by 10 and you get what it is in front of our office. I couldn't get out of my truck for a minute. I thought the doors were still locked but it was the wind.

When I got up this morning, most everything in my yard had already frozen over. I covered the plants last night, but the 60 mph gusts took care of that.

It's now 29 and still dropping in N. Austin.

I get off at State/Lake and have to walk 5 blocks to work and usually it feels like I'm heading straight into the wind since I heard towards the Lake.

Jeez it's way too cold outside. I've already gotten used to the warmth these last few days. Goddamnit.

Damn... I've never even heard of Canada Goose. When I moved to Chicago the first thing I bought was a really expensive North Face jacket for the winter... It has been keeping me warm enough...

But what I can't find our damn gloves that won't let my fingers go numb. I'm considering the mittens with the flap on top that lets your fingers be exposed (so that I can fiddle with my iPhone on the L without having to take off my glove and let go of a pole and possibly fall over when the train is jerking around)

But those probably don't keep you very warm either.

Are there any good apps for the iPhone for weather?
I had to fill gas this morning too and it was still raining. It was raining so hard. This was around 630.

I use Accuweather... I like it a lot... gives daily, weekly, and hourly forecasts.

Kam, "the weather channel" APP?

I use its map for precipitation prediction.

I would recommend "the Weather Channel" or "Weather HD" (paid but free if you have your phone jailbroken).
