Higher accumulations may be less likely. An inch or less may be more common with higher amounts for who's ever in the heavier snow bands. The bulk of the energy with this system is well to our north right now. As the low moves to the east we'll have to see if it can bring in a moderate snow band to the Houston area. The Xmas 2004 snowstorm exploded with moisture in the late hours and brought a foot of snow to Victoria and 4-5 inches to Galveston.
It's coming down in Nac. Just wintry mix though, mostly frozen rain. Sucks, the line has appeared to have moved north of us, so all the snow is to the north west.
The entire has or will be getting freezing drizzle and the thinking was that would mostly stay to the south and east of Houston. Roads will be terrible tomorrow morning.
MG if that's us panicking then i don't want to see 2012 around Houston. That video makes us look like a poozy compare to these guys <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/d5exATIaQiI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Oh well.. I was planning on waking up, but I might as well just sleep through it. Not looking so good... at least we all got a day off.
http://www.click2houston.com/_video-frame/26734999/index.html 3:00 mark of that video shows that it won't come down until 3, 4, 5am... like I've been saying...
I live in Sugar Land and have yet to see snow. I will stay up for another 45 minutes, but if I don't see snow, imma crash.
I'm seeing very tiny flurries mixed with light rain that turns into ice. My car outside is all iced up and frozen.
I live near the Woodlands in Klein, and over here, it's dry as a bone. Pretty anti-climactic. Here's hoping that by the time I wake up in 6 hours, it's gonna be a winter wonderland.
