Really man? Really? You'd rather have the roads filled with ice and dangerous than go to work for ONE DAY. On a freakin Friday? Really?
Light rain here in Sugar Land... I know it'll freeze as soon as it gets colder. I would prob expect snow around 4 am.
Freezing drizzle and sleet right now as the atmosphere moistens up. Starting to come down a little harder in Missouri City.
Live in Sugar Land and it just started raining here. Cars have ice on them right now. Hopefully it turns into snow pretty soon.

Lake Olympia. I've got a glaze of ice on my backyard deck from the freezing drizzle that passed through but nothing falling at the moment.
That was the most embarrassing thing to watch. The way the news has played this out makes me want to cringe, a lot.
agreed I was jsut watching BBT on delay when I realized KHOU had broken into the program right during the end segment just to let us know that we could get coverage of the big freeze on their website and at 10pm. Ummm....WTF??? Ive always had a problem with how the locals like to break into programs for the supidest damn reasons....which invariably have them saying something is "breaking news" but they will have next to no details. Im always like...then shut up and come back when you actually know something dip*****s!
Still several hours away from significant snow falling. This is reducing the window of opportunity for higher accumulations to occur before the precip comes to an end.
I argued with my mom all night about this lol, I kept saying that southern people are such sissies when it comes to cold weather. My sister and her kept trying to say that people aren't accustomed to driving in the freezing conditions (which is true) so it is a big deal to get 1 inch of snow. I said f that it rains in Hou all the time and a lot of people still don't know how to drive in that. Is it that hard to avoid all the bridges you can, and when forced to drive over them drive at a much slower rate than you normally would. I remember the Austin/SA icing my freshman year of college, people freaked out then too! I remember going out to dinner and everyone being afraid to drive, I got in my car drove 6 people to dinner on a completely empty highway, why didn't I skid off into the unknown? Because I am not a moron who drives the speed limit when there is no traction! Also, my sister and mom work at schools, they were complaining about how they waited an hour after school to tell everyone school was canceled the next day, instead of telling all the students and staff at school. I just laughed because I thought it was funny that they were ALREADY closing schools, for SLEET, friggin SLEET! I can remember the streets of Quail Valley being flooded and still having to go to school. But if you freeze that water, Houston shuts doowwnnnnn. /rant
Jesus Christ man that video made ME embarrassed being a former Texas resident (Arlington-Ft. Worth) lol
Nobody was expecting precipitation this early... still expect 1 to 3 inches of snow. It was really a longshot that it would start any earlier than midnight because of the dry air.
hahahaa, no way dude. the only way i would put 200 bucks in to jj's pockets would be to bribe him into stopping those gay papa johns commercials
