Does anyone else here catch metro in the morning? I hate my bus driver when I’m at the transit center, he parks the bus on the side until its time to go before he pulls the bus to the stop and he wont let anyone on the bus ( that punk) so we are all outside freezing.
Metro is usually nice this time of year to hook up those electric heaters... surprised they haven't done it yet, especially for this week.
Why is everyone b****ing about cold weather and the possibility of snow this week? How often do we in Houston get to see cold snowy weather???? Just stfu and enjoy it!
it iced/snowed in Dallas the other day and of course, my dumbass thought I could drive in it...was doing ok but hit a patch of ice going 20mph (almost home) and spun out and blew out my tire when I hit the curb...luckily no one was around but I was able to get to Firestone sothey could change out with my spare. The main roads are fine, its those f'n side roads that don't get sanded... On top of that, I threw out my back trying to change the tire myself and i have leaking water in my kitchen... Focking Fantastic!!!!!
They are expecting a couple of inches up here in Nacogdoches tomorrow night, and more on Friday. Can't wait. Love the white stuff. Everything in my backyard has ice on it from the rains prior to the freezing.....might as well get covered in snow.
My Wife is a teacher for HISD (teaches in West Houston) and she said they just got sent a company-wide email stating that school would NOT be canceled for any time this week. I'm sure they'll change their tune Friday morning.
HISD has a history of this crap. They'll change their tune when they realize that most kids won't go on Friday.
Humble ISD said the same thing. Spring ISD, on the other hand, closed their schools at 11:15 this morning. LOL.
Exactly what I told her. Whereas with the head of my department, it could be the freaking apocalypse and he wouldn't care. Jesus & Satan could be fighting in the sky and he would be calling wanting to know where everyone was. Douche.
I'd say you're lucky, really. At least you weren't smushed by a semi on I-35. But yeah, if there ever was an excuse to not go to work, this storm counts as one.
I think I am going to put together a self help guide to dealing with snow for y'all. I am going to make sure to put on the cover "DON'T PANIC".
1-3 inches, all of which will melt on the roads as it won't be below freezing. Why is anyone even remotely worried about this?
